I don't know how happy I am lol. I am glad to still get Diggs the long way back in the 3rd after passing on him in the 2nd for AJ Brown though.

 

My rankings may be fucked, but I got my top 3 ranked players (not counting extra QBs, since I knew I was taking Mahomes) in Mahomes, Chubb and Ekeler.

 

Oh I didn't see anything about calling up at any time. I only say the deadline to add guys in the preseason. Is that for expanded rosters in the offseason? I mean it seems redundant to have a PS deadline in the preseason if rosters are always at 30 max and PS players can be moved at any time.

I feel like my tiny brain is missing something.

 

The part about the deadline is likely left over from before we updated the PS rule.

Which section of the rules is that located in and I'll edit it up so we don't confuse anyone else.

 

The practice squad can really help with free agency/cap space, if you can utilize those PS players after 30 days, without a cap penalty.

My position almost screwed me early but I think it just worked out to not be upset to pick early. In these start up drafts I feel it's better to go early and get an elite guy early and then 2 studs at the 2/3 turn than potentially miss an elite guy and get maybe 2 slightly better studs at 1-2 and then drop off at 3-4. Diggs and Harris felt very fortunate for me considering that.

 

Without Hunt to steal carries, I think he becomes the premier RB in the league. The guy is a beast.

Hey Tim, if someone wants to give one of their first 3 2-yr eligible rookies a 3-year deal I assume you can but you don't get that 2-yr deal back to use on another rookie.

 

In reality, Ekeler is the higher touted get, than Chubb. He is ranked in the top 3 RBs by almost everyone

Someone on FF is also asking if we can give initial deals to our rookies drafted after the first 3 eligible or if they must have 1-year offers. I said something but deleted it once I noticed there is definitely some interpretation there that only Tim can define as the correct way.

 

No, because this would change the wage scale (by lengthening the timeframe) making it so that rookies drafted in this season would be at a discount over extended years compared to rookies that will be drafted in 2024.

That is the reason why the rule states it as follows:

The first 3 rookies that each owner drafts that have two year contracts will retain those contracts exempt from the total allowable two year designations (12). All rookies drafted after that will receive one year deals at the same premium they would originally receive

 

Okay. So Zay Flowers for instance, who has a 2-yr scale set up but my 4th eligible rookie drafted cannot be offered a 2-yr from my pool or can he get a 2-yr but not a 3-yr?

 

He cannot receive an extended contract out of this draft as he is a rookie player on the rookie pay scale.
