Yep, England created a ton of chances. It prob should've been 4 or 5-0 by halftime. England's finishing was terrible in that match, particularly Lingard & Sterling. That match could've easily finished 7-0 and it wouldn't have been flattering. England are gonna pay for that quality of finishing when they play a good team.
Skinny what did i just say. You don't know what their MO is. You don't know about soccer. You said they didn't create many chances and they were lucky to win 2-1. Both statements, completely wrong.
One BIG thing about the England match that really needs to be discussed was the use of VAR in that match. Personally im against the use of VAR cos i don't think it will hugely improve the game and will just shift the burden of controvesy away from the ref on onto something/someone else. The use of VAR in the England match was an absolute disgrace. The penalty for Tunisia was really soft, you just can't give those unless you're happy giving 10-15 pens a match which no one wants. But even worse were the two fouls on Kane that weren't given, even with VAR. FIFA specifically said one of the aims of VAR in this world cup was gonna be to stop the fouls in the box at corners/free kicks, a problem which has been getting completely out of control in recent years because, frankly, the ref can't watch all of em and the linesman never do shit.... and the players all know this. The two fouls on Kane, one in each half, were just unbelievable. Both times he was basically rugby tackled, with the defender not even pretending he was looking at the ball. It was just blatant. And both times the VAR monkeys didn't press the button and even review it. Again, this was specifically something they should've been looking for, replays showed both instances about 20 times. VAR already has lost all credibility with me. If they're gonna give pens like we saw for Tunisia, and France against the Aussies. But not types like the ones against England then the whole thing is pointless. They have tried to improve the human failings re referee-ing, and have instead replaced them with human failings from some guys watching it on tv somewhere. Totally pointless.
Anyway, the chances of england winning it all are the same as having peter sellers drive into the stadium in a '66 austin martin blasting out revolver.
They had several chances from within 10 yards in the first half. They had a ton of chances. Not so much in the second half when Tunisia sat back and tried to pack their own box to get the draw. But overall, loads of chances.
Realistically there's prob only 5-6 teams you would expect to win it and England's not one of them. They'll get out of the group, but quarter finals is their ceiling imo.
Standing at the bar watching the english match when this black he/she brit walks in wearing a skirt. "Hello everybody, doesn't it end up in an argument with someone that was telling their group to keep it down. If that's not sureal, I don't know what is.
if you're not cheating, you're not winning... just kidding. at this stage - you can't let this happen !
Can't tell for sure but it does look like the ref waved him on? So that's not really on the 4th official, right? His job in that instance is just to alert the ref that the injured player is OK to return, not send him on?
I think you are right. He waved him on when it got headed toward's Senegal's goal and then when it came back he was coming on when Poland kicked it backwards blindly.
