I wish he was in the L4SN league last night. I could have used all the help I could get in having players fall to me (none of them did!).
I'm in two leagues (as usual) this year - I pick first in a 12-team "touchdown" league, and 10th in a 10-team PPR league. Totally different rules/scoring systems, and completely opposite ends of the spectrum drafting positions. I have my studying cut out for me this year.
Yeah I was 11/12 last night, and it was brutal. In all the mocks leading up to it, I constantly had my targets falling to me often with multiple choices each time. Last night though, I felt like it was playing catch-up from the start, and I never truly got ahead.
There is a good reason for that. The mocks were 10-teamers. 12 team mocks almost always seem like you are playing catch up when you are used to 10 team ones.
Maybe you would rather had been in my spot at 12 and watched the person at 11 keep taking the pic you waited so deliberately for. Thanks Kid for jumping on Ball, Jackson, Miller, Wayne, and to add icing on the cake, grabbing the QB I was going to start half the time, Carson Palmer. Maybe you heard me screaming at you during the draft.
haha wow somehow it makes me feel slightly better that somehow I managed to cause problems for someone else after it seemed like the whole draft did for me. I'm a bad person. With Jackson, I got lucky then. I got my Bob's mixed up, and I thought it was the Lions fan behind me all night. I was thinking about taking Randall Cobb there, but I figured a Lions fan certainly wouldn't take Cobb, so I went Jackson first and then 2 picks later. That Carson Palmer pick was definitely a last, last resort. I missed my backup QB window, and before I knew it, it was down to Palmer and guys like Geno Smith and Terrell Pryor. haha
Alex Smith was also available. I took him a bit after you took Palmer. I did take Peyton so t didn't matter, but Smith that late was pretty good. If Palmer was there still I might have taken him but the INTs are troubling.
Yeah, like you, I only want my backup for 1 game since I have Rodgers. If he goes down, I'm in the tank as it is. Last season I had the #2 and #3 fantasy QBs in Brees and Rivers, and it didn't do me any good aside from sometimes playing the matchup which didn't yield much of a gain anyway. This way, I won't be tempted to micromanage the QB position.
I was seriously tempted to take Peyton AND Drew with my first two picks just to see how it would shake up later with trades. But with Arian still there I had to play it normal.
#8 Murray is a constant injury risk. no thanks. #14 Jones hurts himself snapping on his chinstrap. pass. #20 Foster. that's another way to spell "injury". #22 Gronk. places too high on the list to take a chance on him.
