I’ve posted the reports - Hue Jackson had 100% say on the QBs. He didn’t want McCown, he didn’t want Osweiler, he broke Kessler. He didn’t want Watson. He didn’t want Trubisky. He wanted Kizer and made the guy whom nearly 100-percent of folks thought needed 2-3 years of development the starter in the preseason. He benched him three times and failed to call an offense to support him and his development.

The receivers were poor, sure. They’ve improved talent-wise from 2016, especially when you consider the addition of Njoku and emergence of DeValve.

I don’t have time for any Hue sympathy. He’s the worst coach in the history of the NFL - possible all sports.

    This isn’t an analytics/tradition football debate. It’s not a Hue/Sashi one.

It’s whether or not a coach who’s gone 1-31 deserves any more chances.

Rosen straight said it. Can’t blame him.

He’s seen Hue ruin: Kessler, Hogan, Kizer, and you could also argue Griffin.

Veteran McCown got away from him and enjoyed a career year with the team 100-percent of analysts said was trying to tank.

Hue is just not good. That's the bottom line....And Kizer is arguably the worst excuse for a QB I've ever seen. That guy has no business starting in this league.

My first impression of Kizer at the NFL Combine last year was that he was just awful. But I was wrong....He's much much worse than simply "awful". Watching him play makes me want to light my eyes on fire....

I know Lym is implying that it was all Sashi. And that he put Hue in this terrible situation, but I just refuse to believe that. Sashi listened to Hue's advice on the QB situation, and it got him fired.

I was just telling my son that Kizer looks good on about 1 out of every 7 pass attempts, and that he was do...Presto he throws a beautiful bomb to Gordon, who beat the double coverage...Hallelujah.

Perhaps I was a little hasty on the "quit" remark...My apologies. I know nobody wants to hear that. Even by Browns standards it was a horrendous beginning to today's game, but it looks like they are still trying at least...I still don't think that's enough reason for Hue Jackson to keep his job however.

I think we mistake “quit” for just “insanely poorly-coached”. They look a lot alike.

No. You posted shit off of twitter made up by douchebags who's life goals are meaured by how many clueless followers they have. You have posted NOTHING from a credible source within the Brown's organization.

Are you extra-grouchy from the 0-16 or something else?

Also, while we're setting the record: well-placed sources within the NFL that do not corroborate your narrative < your personal opinions without any sourcing? I just need to know if I can dramatically reduce the amount of time I research, present, and defend arguments.

Hue Jackson wanted DeShone Kizer and didn't want to draft any quality wide receivers. I know it in my bones. #LymanLogic

You guys that loved Juju Smith-Shuster get props.....I liked him, but I had him about 5th or 6th if I remember, and that clearly was not high enough. I know I was very high on Chris Godwin, and I still am, but he's no Juju. My goodness that guy is dominating us...

Where Do We Go From Here?

First, to the 0-16 parade. Then, after commiserating, we pick ourselves up as a franchise and turn to John Dorsey and hope he's able to fix this mess. Here's a few tips from a life-long fan and kind of a prophet:
    • Fire Hue
I cannot stress this enough. There is no possible way a team can bring back a 1-31 coach who's players gave up, regressed, and showed almost no positive growth on his side of the ball. There's a potential of 8-9 job openings this offseason, so the quicker they can move on this the better. Go grab a new coach.
    • Draft your franchise QB
It's a daunting task that only 9-10 teams have successfully done, but it's an easy one to address. Take Baker Mayfield at No. 1 overall and you're set. There is no debate in this class as to who the best QB prospect is. Getting Mayfield will turn the tides for this moribund team. The Lions got Matt Stafford after going 0-16 and haven't looked back. You've got the 4th pick in the draft to grab an elite prospect after picking up Baker... go get him, John.
    • Get a veteran QB to compete immediately
Your roster isn't bad. It isn't as bad as the 2008 Detroit Lions who now have 0-16 company. You have talent at the running back position, even if Crowell walks. You have talented pass-catchers in Josh Gordon, David Njoku, and Seth DeValve. You've got a great offensive line and a very promising defensive line. You need to solidify a few spots and with improved QB play, you can turn 0-16 into 5-11 or 4-12 at worst. Yeah, that's still a bad record, but we've endured 1-31 in Hue's tenure and 1-35 in their last 36 contests. We'll take four or five wins now.
    • Shed some dead weight
The roster is talented, but the 0-16 stink is going to linger. You've got some players who contributed to it more than others. First cut has to be DeShone Kizer - a clean break for both player and franchise. Corey Coleman is also one I'd like to move on from. The last play obviously hurts, but pinning the 0-16 season on him isn't fair. That said, he's still bust-worthy and the attitude/effort needs to be purged. Any other sour players should get the axe as well. With a ton of draft capital, they can be replaced.

It's a start. Make it happen.

  20. Great OL? RBs rushed 21 times for 41 yds and gave up 6 sacks w their best DL not playing...may need to re-think that notion
