Shenanigans. I call shenanigans. I was the *lone* Goff proponent around these parts. If you liked Goff, you didn’t make it known.
Ouch... Then about two posts down you tell us all there “isn’t a franchise QB” in this draft. It’s official. #JumpTheShark #DoYouEvenFootballBro #PigeonChess #BlameItOnTheFlash
You actually never did. Should have known it was a lie. You’ve only given up one name - ever - at QB. Trubisky this season, and only after @Lyman goaded you into it.
Speaking of... knee injury for Wentz. Ruled out quickly and staff reportedly looked “dejected” about it. Could be a bad situation. Hope he’s well since he’s playing at an MVP level, but this could hamper the Eagles’ season.
NO, you were questioning the fact that I "never" like a QB at the top of the draft...not if I "like" someone...I ALWAYS name my "top" QB of each and every draft..YOU declared (two years later) that you wanted Goff..
NBD... our QB throws crippling, game-losing, starting-prescription-drug-addiction interceptions and misses time with “headaches”.
One, that's the most passion I've seen out of Hue in two seasons. Two, DeShone Kizer just doesn't get it. He looks petulant and frustrated at Hue there. "But Clay Matthews hit my arm, coach!!" No accountability. I believe the scouting reports that heavily questioned his passion for the game. Three, Baker Mayfield... come on down!!
Mock Draft | Week 14 Update In the first game with John Dorsey on board, the Browns pissed away a 14 point lead in the fourth quarter after out-playing a playoff hopeful roster in Green Bay. Dorsey had to wake up in a cold sweat thinking he'll be tied to Hue Jackson for a full season in 2018. As reported by Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, many around the NFL think Dorsey is going to talk Haslam into a coaching change as well. Until we get some names, we'll have to presume the unfortunate... that Hue Jackson returns for another make-or-break season. [All picks are based on remaining SOS projections. Doing just Top 100 picks.] 1.1: Baker Mayfield, QB Oklahoma Imagine a QB prospect who, as a four-year starter, improved his game every season. Who set the NCAA record for passer efficiency twice. Who boasted elite arm strength but also hyper-elite accuracy at all three levels of the field. A prospect who possessed tremendous pocket awareness and mobility, allowing him to extend plays like few before him. A guy who has the ability to throw receivers open - a rare trait at the college level. A prospect who's intangibles and passion for the game are off-the-charts. Who had more big-time wins than any draft-eligible QB and has his team vying for the National Championship. Now, imagine passing on this prospect because he measured 6'0" at the NFL combine. Dorsey knows the QB he selects at No. 1 overall will define his tenure with the Cleveland Browns. Josh Rosen is a fine prospect, but he doesn't have all the qualities that Mayfield possesses. Not only does Baker check all the boxes of Dorsey's personal preferences, he has the personality to lift a franchise and put it on his shoulders. 1.2 (NYG): Josh Rosen, QB UCLA New York needs to address life after Eli Manning after forcing him out. They rarely draft this high. 1.3 (SFO): Saquon Barkley, RB Penn State Although he's enjoying a solid season, Carlos Hyde is a pending free agent and Barkley is a clear upgrade at the position. 1.4 (IND): Mike McGlinchey, OT Notre Dame While Indy could move on from Luck, protecting his blind side with the top OT prospect makes more sense. 1.5 (DEN): Lamar Jackson, QB Louisville Little-discussed point: the Broncos' quaterback situation is worse than the Browns. 1.6 (f/Houston): Minkah Fitzpatrick, CB/FS Alabama Fitzpatrick's versatility would excite just about any defensive coordinator and with good reason - he's the top prospect at two separate positions. His addition would give the Browns' defense a true center-field safety which also would allow Jabrill Peppers to move into a more traditional in-the-box safety role. Fitzpatrick has good size (6'1" 201 pounds), speed, and ball skills to stay on the field for all defensive snaps and the talent to instantly make other players around him better. 2.33: Connor Williams, OT Texas The Browns are in a great position at #33 overall to grab a first-round talent who slides - especially if a record number of quarterbacks go in the Top 32. While I don't expect Williams to be available here come draft day, from what I've seen out there, he's going around the bottom of the first, so it's not unreasonable - at this point - to think he could slip. Joe Thomas can't play forever and Spencer Drango has been a huge disappointment. Admittedly, it seems to take OL the longest to transition to the NFL in the modern game, but the Brown's can't just hope the light comes on for Drango. As a starter at Texas, Williams has been sublime in pass protection. He's a finesse tackle like Thomas (6'6" 315 pounds) who's been the #1 and #2 offensive lineman in pass protection the past two seasons (per PFF.com). He could learn from one of the best before taking over the position - and would give them a great emergency option if need be. 2.37 (f/Houston): Tarvarus McFadden, CB Florida State Drafting player for scheme in McFadden, who lines up nicely as a press coverage cornerback. McFadden, and the Seminole defense overall, has had a lackluster season but the talent is still there. He's got the size (6'2" 200 pounds) and physicality to play against NFL receivers. After posting 8 interceptions as a sophomore, he's got zero this season, so it will be interesting to see where his stock lands - he entered the year as the No. 3 or 4 corner on most boards. Will allow Jamar Taylor to move to a reserve role eventually and should pair nicely with Jason McCourty. 2.63 (f/Philadelphia): Ronald Jones II, RB Southern California Browns need an infusion of talent at the running back position where Duke Johnson is underutilized - and has struggled down the stretch - and Isaiah Crowell is a free agent who likely isn't getting a tendered offer. Jones isn't a prototypical-sized guy (5'11" 200 pounds) but he offers explosion and elusiveness, leading to a big play potential back. This season, he's averaged 6.1 YPC accounting for nearly 1,500 rushing yards and 18 scores. The overall lack of speed on the offense really stands out and Jones can help add that dimension to the team going forward. 3.65: Simmie Cobbs Jr., WR Indiana Although the promise of Josh Gordon returning and playing at a high level is an exciting one, he has yet to prove he can stay clean through an entire NFL season. As such, the Browns need to plan on adding to the roster at the position and Cobbs can be a 50/50 match-up guy like Gordon. Blessed with great size (6'4" 220 pounds), Cobbs bounced back from an ankle injury in 2016 to post 72 catches, 841 yards, and 8 touchdowns. He would give the Browns another outside target, allowing Corey Coleman to move inside to the slot position. I think the Browns would also do well to add a body in free agency (Jarvis Landry) who can be a consistent, chain-moving guy for them. 4.97: Oren Burks, LB Vanderbilt Joe Schobert has been a very solid pro this season, but they could use an upgrade at the spot - especially with regards to coverage. Burks is a coverted safety, so the ball skills are there (21 career passes defensed, 5 career interceptions) who's got good size inside now (6'3" 230 pounds). Joe Schobert is great against the run and gives the team a terrific pair in the middle to rotate as needed.
Not to be argumentative, but I see Alabama's Fitzpatrick as the 2nd ranked safety behind FSUs Derwin James. FSUs McFadden is the top rated CB in college as well, so he won't last into the 2nd round.
