Is there a major difference between 0-16 and 1-15? We won't be the first team to go 0-16 and we're already historically bad... does that lone victory somehow salvage what's been a garbage fire of a season in a string of garbage fires?
I agree, it doesn't change a lot, but it keeps us out of the record book on that at least... I'm just surprised at how many Browns fans are willing to stick with Hue Jackson. Sometime's a reset at the top is all a team needs. Keeping Hue simply for the sake of continuity makes no sense to me.....I'm not sure if there has ever been a coach that deserved to lose his job as much as Hue does. And I'm 99.99% certain he will.
If there were something redeeming other than, "his players love him", by all means kept things status quo. But the players loved Romeo Crennel when he was here. I'm sure they loved Mo Carthon as well. Go out and get LeFleur from Los Angeles and let him bring along Greg Olson to coach quarterbacks.
Please temper those generational talent comments...the guy hasnt done much and most radio experts are saying he hasnt even come close to the draft status of #1 player so far
I agree SAS...the guy is a complete joke....a player that was suspended that long for his wrong doing and he's inserted in the starting lineup the 1st game back.....LOL
Rodgers isn't eligible to return until December 17 due to IR restrictions. He will not be playing in the Dec 10th contest against the Browns..but you can keep guessing, it's your prerogative.
Here's the thing, his "wrong doing" was dealing with an illness. He has paid his dues to the NFL and/or Browns. At this point, punishment is a moot point for dealing with his demons. He immediately becomes the best player on the field, I am not saying that because of what he did 4-5 years ago, I am saying it based on what he looked like on the practice field since returning. There isn't anyone close to his talent on the offensive side of the ball..not even close.. So in essence, you would be punishing the team, not Gordon for not starting him right away. Haven't the team and fans gone through enough? If he gives this team the best opportunity to get a win, then why in the hell would he not be placed on the field as much as his body can handle after the layoff? I shake my head every time someone comments that he needs to be punished for his wrong doing...If a guy gets cancer and has to take a year off, when he returns he should be punished and forced to not play? He has an illness that he will deal with for the rest of his life. You and I will NEVER have to understand what he goes through every day. There may be some on these boards that do, and I pray you handle those days with grace and as little pain as possible. But, to simply state Gordon chooses to do things wrong is an extreme understatement as to the illness he is dealing with. As with any illness, when it is under control, he should be allowed to return to play immediately. Your feelings being hurt shouldn't be a reason to deny him that. He could relapse at any time, today, tomorrow, next week, next year, after retirement. We need to enjoy his special talent for every play we can, the next time it will be the last we ever get to see him play. Chris Carter overcame and went on to a HOF career. Gordon has that type of talent, overcoming his illness is what currently stands in the way of realizing that talent.
Just to clarify: I was bagging on Hue for asking the media pool what would cause them to ask him why Josh is starting when the literal day before, Hue implied he wouldn’t be and would have to earn it. I think Josh deserves the start. As @IrishDawg42 says, he’s easily the most talented player on offense. Why keep him sidelined? His first game back from suspension last time they targeted him 16 times. Kizer may look his way at least 20.

He was easily the best on the field during his last "full" season...He looks like the same player over the past two weeks. I don't think it is crazy at all..it is being reported, not something I am making up.
Unfortunately, this is an ignorant statement. Just like cancer needs treatment, so does addiction. It is a perfect example. Both are forms of disease. You don't just decide you don't want to take drugs or alcohol (or gambling for that matter) just because it has a negative impact on your life...Like I said before, you and I will never have to deal with the disease. But those that are inflicted with it need treatment every day for the rest of their lives. Doing drugs is much different than being addicted to drugs...that is where you are falling short.
So we know you don't even football (#DoYouEvenFootballBro), but... Gordon is a 6'4" 230 pound receiver who runs sub 4.4 forty yard dashes, can out-jump a gazelle, and can catch anything thrown in his general direction. The only receiver who comes remotely close to his level of talent (POTENTIAL) over the past decade has been Calvin Johnson. So yeah, not a stretch to say Gordon is the most talented player on the field when he steps on to it since Johnson has retired from the game. You're drilling another poster for using the term "best player" instead of "most talented player".
All those 4 guys have been pretty money though for their snap counts. Next up for some is probably Watt but as flashy as he's been he probably walked into the starter role and has played over 75% of defensive snaps. He hasn't really been that good. He's just a freak at times and has more opportunity.
Watt has actually been the best rookie run defender on the edge since Khalil Mack. Nearly half the time he's dropped back in coverage too. Watt has been asked to do everything and not been a liability. Maybe he's not as good overall as these four but he's still been good.
Watt has been good. He hasn't been asked to do too much either. Not being a liability is perhaps the most important. He has been good. I just meant he hasn't been as good as the times he flashes out with a big play in primetime suggest. He is a solid piece that should only continue to improve and he fell into a great opportunity with his team, support and playing time.
PFF.com has him graded out at 77.1 against the run (good for 43rd). He's been asked to cover a TON, spending 126 snaps in coverage (second among all edge defenders). He broke out against a very bad DeShone Kizer in Week 1 but really has been kept in check ever since (22 tackles, 3.0 sacks, 0 INTs) in 446 snaps.
