Where Do We Go From Here?

  1. We have watched most of these games....the only running game to speak of was vs Det and they just let the Bears run for over 220 yds on them....the ypc looks great but you just said Crowell isnt that talented...he has 5 games under 45 yds rushing...the QBs have boosted that ypc way up since Kizer is avg 5 ypc and Hogan over 7ypc...if you can honestly look at this team and say they should be running the ball well that simply isnt true cause their OL is soft

Browns are tied for 7th in the NFL in YPC (4.3). When you take QB numbers out of all results, Browns are tied for 8th in the NFL in YPC (4.0).

Browns are rushing an embarrassingly low (league-low) 182 times, 18.2 rush attempts per game excluding the QBs. Other teams rushing that few times excluding QBs are Seattle (186 attempts, 3.3 YPC), Arizona (195 attempts, 3.3. YPC), and Cincinnati (201 attempts, 3.1 YPC). Oakland rounds out the bottom 5 in attempts with 201, also. Their YPC is 4.3, boosted by Cordarrelle Patterson's 12.4 YPC average. Without him, they'd fall to 3.8 YPC.

  3. In what game can you honestly say they have run the ball well.....minus Det?

What part of, "you can't run the ball well if you don't run the ball" don't you understand?

  5. Ok so lets run it 50 times and get 115 yds like yesterday...your lead RB had 11 carries for 18 yds...you really think that was the best option?

Stopper . . . Surely you're smarter than that. IF you can average 4.0 yards per carry with absolutely no threat of a passing game, how does that reflect poorly on the RB's and O-line? They're running against defenses schemed to stop the run and STILL average 4.0 YPC.

  7. In the 1st half the Browns do not generate a running game....getting a meaningless 10 yd rush before half or in 2 min drill down 14 pts doesnt mean you can run the ball.....I wonder what the breakdown is in the 1Q or 1st half...Mr stat guy SAS???

It doesn't matter what the breakdown is in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th quarter IF YOU HAVE NO PASSING GAME !

Not sure where the 50/115 come from. You've outlined the bigger issue, though. In a game that was never more than 7 points difference until the literal last seconds, our head coach and offensive coordinator thought it wise to run the ball 13 combined times with running backs (18 times, total). The opposing team ran it 28 times alone with their lead back (44 times total).

For the Browns, the dud running back who I'm advocating benching was 11 for 18, as you pointed out. The backup, whom I'm supporting giving more looks, was 2 for 10.

Reminder... this was on a classic Cleveland in November day when temperatures were low-to-freezing, wind and snow were abound.

  10. I was just throwing out a number...Fournette was gashing them early and avgd 4.0 ypc compared to 1.6....Im sure if roles were reversed the Browns would have run the ball more....cant have confidence and get in 2nd n 3rd n long when your getting less than 2 ypc especially w Kizer running the show

  11. And no running game hence the 15 pts game which I believe is last in the league

That was something that socked me right between the eyes yesterday...It's always been suspect, but it was consistently bad on the cold weather yesterday. That worries me a great deal.

That was a very winnable game yesterday, but there is no way to win with Kizer throwing the ball like that. Talk about hard to watch. My goodness that was brutal...

More bad news: Emanuel Ogbah is done for the year with a broken foot....Browns expected to elevate Tyrone Holmes from the practice the practice squad later this week when Ogbah goes on IR...that sucks.

And the top prospects in 2018 are from...

Texas (Mayfield), California (Rosen), and Florida (Jackson).

    Priority free agent in 2018.

Priority free agent in 2018 and/or possible trade target.

  18. What is Coleman doing here? My guess is he should be clearing out w a fade and it should be an incomplete pass

The Browns losing is setting all kinds of records....We are now in the midst of the worst 47 game stretch in NFL history, at 4-43....Sashi continues to imply that the plan is working, though they are frustrated with the results....And Hue refuses to talk about the plan or endorse it.

That pretty much sums it up in Brownstown...
