With QBs being overvalued, first round talent will easily be pushed to Rd 2. Before allegations against Caleb Brantley he was a borderline rd 1 prospect and he was drafted Rd 6. It does happen.
Yes w some exceptions like stated above and I never heard round 1....Sutton could be the 1st WR off the board
Certainly not a finished product....That'll come when we hoist the Lombardi. I'm thinking 2020 season (if we grab the right QB next Thursday night), the Browns will be considered legit SB contenders....Next year, we will be considered contenders for AFCN....This year, outside shot at Wildcard contention, if we can gel (as Irish mentioned) and stay healthy... Do you think the Browns will get any primetime games this year? I know the record would say NO WAY, but something tells me we might....
I don't know about prime time games...but I bet the league will be deciding between the Rams and Browns for Hard Knocks... (edit) I wonder if that's a negotiating point? "If you take Hard Knocks, we'll give you a Sunday night and Monday night game."
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...-losers-of-the-nfl-offseason-before-the-draft WTH? This guy is calling the Browns the biggest "losers" of the off-season based off of a rumor that we might take Josh Allen...lol! Geezus. Browns can't catch a break. Taking heat for a move that hasn't even happened...Thanks Mary Kay.
FYI IF they really did feel that way, they should immediately get fired...This is the fanbase that got Peyton Hillis VOTED onto the cover of Madden...In hind sight, that probably wasn't a great move on our part with the curse and all..but if he comes to Cleveland and the Browns turn it around, he will be heralded in much the same way Emmitt Smith is in Dallas. Statues will be built. He would be the face of the NFL, he will just have to share the spotlight with Baker Mayfield. If he goes to someplace like New York and he is a 1200 yard rusher, 12 TD performer and they keep losing because Manning is aging..he will be booed out of the city. Hell, they have the best WR in the league right now and no one in New York is outraged at the trade talk.
So even at 45, Brady won't be slowing down? Nor will Ben and Rivers at age 40? Are you being serious with that take? lol!
Two words: Damage. Control. But just to recap, players who directly, indirectly, or through handlers have said they'd like to avoid the Browns: Sam Darnold Josh Rosen Saquon Barkley Players who've said they're the only guy in the draft who can turn the Browns into NFL Champions: Baker Mayfield And we've got the media and the majority of fans (not here, I know) clamoring for the first guy to say he didn't want to go to Cleveland because he's the "safe" pick and "looks" like a quarterback (Darnold). Sometimes I think we deserve 1-31.
Come on Irish... In no world is he "the best WR in the league right now". He may be the most talented, but nowhere near AB.
"Nowhere near"? Discounting his last season for injury, here's Odell Beckham Jr.'s average the last three seasons: 170 targets, 107 receptions, 1,534 yards, 13 TD, 14.3 YPR Against Brown's: 181 targets, 122 receptions, 1,654 yards, 11 TD, 13.6 YPR ... so Beckham accounts for more points and stretches the field on fewer targets with less weapons around him and, I don't think many - especially Steeler's fans - would argue an inferior (to Roethlisberger) QB. "Nowhere near"? C'mon, man... Meanwhile, Julio Jones (167/107, 1,643 / 6 / 15.4) over here just waiting for one of them to catch him.
