I'm not saying he didn't ever have great players..I am saying he allowed them to become great players, he gave them the best opportunity to be the best they could be.

Stopper seriously, how the hell can you put Jamies Winston in the same group as Brady, P. Manning and Rodgers?? C'mon...That's ridiculous.

You accuse SAS of wearing his Buckeye glasses when he mentioned Hooker, while you spew this FSU homerism in every other post. lol!

Veteran cornerback Vontae Davis visited with the Cleveland Browns as part of his pre-free agency tour. The longtime Indianapolis Colt was released earlier and can sign at any time.
The Browns, and any other NFL team with interest in signing Vernon’s younger brother, have to hope they’re getting the Vontae Davis of 2014-15. He was one of the best and most physical corners in the league, notching an incredible 27 PDs to go with four interceptions in 2014. He picked off four passes the next year as well, earning Pro Bowl nods in both seasons.

Since then he’s struggled with injuries and the loss of a half-step of speed. He missed most of 2017 with a torn Achilles. The first-round pick in 2009 out of Illinois turns 30 in May.

If Drew Brees will consider leaving, Browns could make an enormous offer

Drew Brees has said repeatedly this offseason that he has no interest in playing for any team other than the Saints. But with each passing day, Brees gets one day closer to his contract with the Saints expiring. Which means that with each passing day, we’re one day closer to some team being able — without risking a tampering violation — to try to convince Brees to leave.

And that brings us to the Browns.

New Browns G.M. John Dorsey has indicated that he wants to end the slow rebuild and win right away, and there’s no player who would more epitomize an effort to win right away than Brees. And the Browns could make an offer to Brees that would blow all other offers away.

The Browns are estimated to have a whopping $110 million in 2018 salary cap space, meaning they’re first in the league in cap space by more than $30 million. Cleveland could offer Brees an insane contract. Cleveland could sign him to a one-year, $50 million contract and the Browns would still have $60 million in cap space, which would still be more than all but four other teams.

Would Brees consider going to the Browns? Probably not. Remember, this is all hypothetical until Brees comes off his stance that he’s staying in New Orleans.

But Cleveland wouldn’t necessarily be as bad a destination as you might think the Browns’ 0-16 record makes them. If Brees were to sign with the Browns he’d have Joe Thomas protecting his blind side. He’d have Josh Gordon as his No. 1 receiver. And he’d have all the talent that the Browns’ remaining cap space could buy — and that’s before the Browns add even more talent in this year’s draft, when Cleveland has the first overall pick, the fourth overall pick, as well as picks No. 33, 35, 64 and 65.

The Browns are loaded with cap space and could be loaded with good young talent if Dorsey drafts well. Brees insists he’s not leaving New Orleans, but the Browns would be wise to prepare a huge offer, just in case a deal isn’t done by the time free agency begins.

  8. I meant Winston is trying to win games w little talent.....I dont thnk Evans is that great as #1, their OL is awful, no RB and Humphries and Brate are looking good cause of him....hes not in the same breath w those guys

Here me now... Jamies Winston is a very talented QB that is too careless with the football. Plain and simple. Spectacular at times, but he will always be wildly inconsistent imho... His propensity to turn the football over is ridiculous, and he's just not a REAL leader of men. I see a young man who tries very hard to be a leader, but in the end he is his own worst enemy, and teammates are not buying in...He checks a lot of boxes, but he leaves the major ones unchecked.

I know I'm in the minority on my J. Winston opinion...

    I can live with that.

...and I hope he proves me wrong someday.

I really respect the passion that the Cleveland fans have. There is no direction other than up (tee hee). I really do not like former players speaking out of turn about the Browns. Just my opinion. This season is not make or break, but a process in changing the culture. I was surprised Hue was given another year, but maybe (awww, crap, no he can't) impress the season tickey holders.

Since 2014, three wide receivers have had 1,000+ yard and 3+ receiving touchdown consecutive seasons. Julio Jones, Antonio Brown, and Mike Evans.

This is *yet another* garbage hot take from you. Aren't you supposed to know wide receivers? Isn't that what you coach?

(FUN FACT!!! If you expand that to three seasons since 2014, you pick up on two more players - Brandin Cooks, who's played for two HOF QBs in prolific passing offenses, and Larry Fitzgerald, a future HOF'er and one of the best in the history of the game.)

I don't see how you can say he has little talent surrounding him...Okay the running game is average. Needs improvement, I'll give ya that...But Mike Evans, Desean Jackson, OJ Howard, Cam Brate, Chris Godwin, Adam Humphries??? Sorry, you can't make the claim that Bucs haven't put talent around Winston.

  16. OL is garbage....he has little time to throw.....Evans is a big target but drops a ton of balls and doesnt get great separation

I could make the argument that Tom Brady has gone to Super Bowls with less talented skill position players at his disposal than what Winston has....

    moving on...

    Obviously the world thinks we will go all in on A.J. McCarron. Clearly Hue loves the guy;

They've shared many a warm embrace. ^^^That isn't even the famous one where Hue sprinted across the field for the love...

So my question is; What does Todd Haley think? Shouldn't that be all that really matters? Everyone is making the Hue connection, which is obvious, but I'd like to know Haley's opinion...

Is there anyone that thinks AJ could step in to the Cleveland Browns' situation and hold it down for a season? I honestly don't know what to think of him. Obviously HE thinks he's a starter, so it would seem the confidence is there. I like that....Idk.

I'd love to see the Browns throw a 2 year offer at Drew Brees that he absolutely could not refuse...How could Baker Mayfield have a better mentor than that? Pipe dream for sure...

Drew Brees coming to Cleveland, with an arsenal of young talent around him, would actually make Tomlin, Harbaugh and Lewis nervous. That would be so much fun.

I appreciate the honesty, but why wouldn't the OC have more say than that? If this is truly Haley's offense, I'd think his opinion would matter more than that.
