    Good to be chatting again.

Somehow my account got smashed on a server upgrade or something. How are things in the north west VV? Im likely moving my fam to the Austin area in 2022.

As far as the mid-season firing, I am told it's happening... Nagy lost the team. He was supposed to be an offensive guru. Then he had to give up play calling because othe than running a trick play her or there, he really had no fucking clue. then they realized he had lost the defense as well and players decided to go on IR instead and get surgery now instead of playing through to win.

    He lost the team.

    He lost the fans.

He has now apparently lost Pace who is on a thin rope as well..

The breaking news today was likely a leak. I heard it from my buddy at HH before it hit the news.

Then it hit the news and there was a clean up.

Nagy is gone. If he makes it through the end of the year, it would be surprising.

Everything that happened after the news broke kinda proved it was true. That was an awkward day. And I know Nagy sucks donkey balls but ownership should really be embarrassed by this whole debacle. This is not how a charter franchise should run.

It kind of feels like ownership leaked it looking to see what the media fallout would be before having to actually make that decision.

I could see that. And that tells you just how clueless they are and just how bad this team needs a real person at the top of the food chain running things.

They need a VP or President of Football Ops that actually understands this game and this league. Someone like a Bill Cowher, doesn't have to be him but someone in that mold, that the GM can report to.

Anyone here trust Hub Arkush? Didn't think so. But if this is true than the dysfunction is worse than we thought:

Hub is an idiot and has been beating the Dalton drum since Fields was picked...even at one point taking the stance that drafting a QB this past offseason was a mistake after signing Dalton.

But this story doesn't shock me at all. I can see Halas Hall running just like this. Nagy went from Dalton is the starter if healthy to Fields is the guy no matter what really quick.

Why would anyone want to coach here when the owner is interfering in personnel/roster decisions? Especially when said owner has repeatedly stated he is not involved in football decisions.

If that’s true, and it smells like it is, then if I was Nagy I would have quit.

There are definitely some qualified candidates that will be totally put off by this and won't seriously consider Chicago as a potential landing spot.

It's absurd. Georgie and Sweaty Teddy were extremely adamant last offseason that they don't make football decisions but then in the same presser said Pace reports to them and they judge all his decisions.

    This organization is a joke.

    This x1000.

Also, we know ownership is dumb, but how fucking dumb do you need to be to still think you meddling is gonna work?? I mean all the clown show F ups that have taken place on George McKlaskey's watch....you still havent learned enough to just keep the F out of things as much as possible??

Bears ownership is the joke of the city. Joke of the league. Joke of all sports.

All good up here, we were able to buy a house which has paid of fantastically with the ridiculous way prices have skyrocketed. I hear good things about Austin, we might head out that way later but the kids are now right in the middle of school and don't want to move them again.

Also, I agree on the locker room, Nagy has lost it. Earlier than I predicted in the pre-season "predict the record" thread but I think it's pretty clear. But then, do they rally around him with the shitty way this was handled?

That's the problem ultimately. This is all so damned believable. It makes perfect sense. This is how the organization has been run since I can remember. Matt Nagy gets to join Dave McGinnis in the annals of front office fuckery.

You mean like when Arians didn't come here because they made him do a mock presser (I think?) and told him he had to keep Marinelli, who left anyway? Yeah that loser who is 74-47-1 with the Cardinals and 5-2 in the playoffs? The guy who has the same number of playoff appearances as the Bears, for him since 2013, for the Bears since 2003. I mean fuck, since 2013, when Arians was hired, the Bears have 2 playoff appearances, both losses, and one was the joke of the expanded format last year.

So now we are at the point where, once a-fucking-gain, we are an embarrassment to the National Football League. Charter fucking franchise and we can't even fire an inept coach without fucking it up.

It pisses me off, to see the Patriots and Belicheck figure out how to use Mac Jones and Nagy and his clueless ass sets up the QB for failure. Teams like the Jets and Jaguars suck not because they don't get talented guys like Lawrence, it's because they don't have clue one how to surround him with talent, hire coaches that can help him grow, etc. I honestly believe if the Patriots had drafted Fields he'd be having more success than Jones, he's certainly more talented. If the Bears had drafted Jones, his numbers would look....worse than Fields this year, probably. The entire situation and organization is garbage.

People on reddit defending Pace because, "it could be worse, we could be the jets! The next GM might be worse!" - Yeah, he might be because of the idiots choosing him, but keeping Pace when you full well know what he fucking is, is a mistake. He's not going to magically become a superstar of managing cap, making trades that don't fuck the bears, etc, etc. He sucks.

Virginia, George, Pace, Nagy, you all suck. We knew this before the season, and Fields was the only real reason to even watch Bears football this year. And they fucked that up too.
