probably over the top from Marchand but celebrating the 7th goal in a 7-0 route right in front of the opposition is a dick move.
and Eller gets in there, he's no innocent bystander when it comes to the rough stuff. he has 380 pims in 605 games.

*either way, its the Broonz fault for allowing a guy to celebrate a 7th goal.

No doubt Eller was acting stupid, but 380 pims in 605 games is mostly minors. The guys a fukn dane, probably his first fight.

He had 28 one season, lady byng terrritory. Now that I seen the whole video of him in front of the bench I don't feel that sorry for him. Otherwise it would be like attacking luc robitaille back in the day.

You don't rub in the 7th goal in 7-0 game. Eller is an idiot and NFK thoroughly explained it to him. Still shouldn't be licking people... whilst playing hockey.

One thing is for sure, Eller wont be celebrating a 7th goal in front of the Bruins bench anymore.

Unless someone is a Boston fan I don't think anyone likes Marchant*. But I agree with you completely. There's a few more games to play this season, and then some playoff games still undetermined. It's a needless dick move to get opponents fired up to kick your ass.

Oh, and I think you're very gracious in the way you place blame on Boston for permitting the circumstance. Most fans would heap opprobrium on the Caps and maintain their team's unblemished virtue.

No one likes Marchant. * But, who wouldn't want him on there team (without the licking)?

I hope they do nothing to Marchant despite the fact that he's on the wheel o' shit list. I gotta think his action motivated his team to kick the ass of the next team they played (which unfortunately they did).

I must say, I am a Marchand fan minus the freekin lickin… he has a screw loose there, but im thinking Lars was out of line, Marchand dealt with it, Lars threw punches, it was a fair fight and Lars had something coming.

That's how you do it. Confront and see if he'll go, if he does, its on. If Lars wanted no part of Marchand he could have looked for an out, but he did stand up and threw a few himself.

Showing up an opposing team/player is a no no in the game of hockey... I side with Brad on this one.

He wasn't wrong in going after Eller, it's just the irony that fans find funny. You're calling him out for a douche move, meanwhile you go around making a mockery of the game by licking people, huh????

My response to that is simple... anyone ever try to lick me, i'll drop them and remove their tounge. All NHL'ers have to do to combat Marchand's licking is deck the guy and make him pay the price since the freeking lazy NHL wont address it.

Shit... im feisty today, lol. Here in Toledo at the Walleye games the big cheer is "hit someone" ! I cant wait for pucks tonight!

Easy Will, don't get yourself in trouble or you'll have to be hiring some sleazy lawyers. Lol
Marchand won't be detered from doing this from a fight, the league has to step in. Geez, this is a lot worse than what avery was doing to brodeaur and they specially wrote in a rule because of it.

Dirty hit last night by Matheson on Elias, and he had to leave the game. Too bad a good story like his might be hampered by an unneeded concussion.

How many players has Marchand licked? I'd like to see the list.

Matheson lost his head and should see the wheel spin.

“I don’t know if Elias Pettersson will be ready when he comes to training camp next year. But we want our young players to be able to play and develop without worrying about getting picked on. We need to have guys who will stand up for them.” -Jim Benning, Jan 2018.

Nice thoughts Jim, but as you can see from last night....nothing from the vets you brought in to shelter the kids.

Next year? Wow, that's serious shit. That's why a lot of teams won't bring up a kid until they play a couple of years in the minors. Elias has a high skill level set, but at 175 lbs, maybe they should've had him bulk up a year or two before throwing him to the wolves.
These swedish kids aren't that big at 18, nylander was the same, he would've got killed at 18.
I guess he just started producing right away and saw a need for scoring and made the call.
Just doesn't make any sense for this to come from an EC team.

He did play in sweden at 18, but no north american experience.

Just watched the play... a terrible thing Matheson did.

He will have a hearing with the DoPS.
