Brown gets one-game suspension for kneeing Sergachev

 

This was a penalty during the game, but no suspension/fine from the NHL...

 

I didn't see anything egregious or malicious about the hit. McAvoy had the puck, Horn rushed in, knocked him off the puck with a shoulder. MCAvoy's head was down playing the puck and that put Hornqvist's shoulder at McAvoy's face level. The br00n ended up with a little nosebleed. Here's the important part (1.20 in video): And TEH PHIL said unto Goliath, "Calm down, Elder, for I shalt exact a terrible vengeance upon thee and thy brethen." Upon these words, peace was restored. I think that’s a good hockey hit and McAvoy should have his head up. The onus should be on McAvoy to be aware. However, in today’s game any hit where the principle point of contact is the head there’s trouble.

 

Would love to hear what Phil and Chara are saying to each other. Would think they probably aren’t very fond of one another

Bruins forward David Backes was suspended three games Wednesday for his check on Detroit’s Frans Nielsen Tuesday night.

Backes was called for interference. Nielsen was injured and didn’t return.

Backes will lose $96,774.18 in pay, which goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.

Late in the first period, after Nielsen got rid of the puck along the boards, Backes sideswiped the center. Nielsen did not appear to see Backes’s approach.
Backes has been centering the Bruins’ third line in place of Riley Nash.

This could mean that Forsbacka-Karlsson gets the call up. I’m speculating.

Marleau in the middle, domenic moore is a good option instead of plekanec. They traded for him just to play against marchand, it looks like plek.
