Not sure what happened with Pearson's brain on that hit.
I wonder if it was just a massive brainfart or if it was payback for something. Either way, glad he was hammered for it, that's one of the really bad ones.

I take back the "hammered" comment. "Hammered" would be 5-9 games. Supplemental discipline is still toothless but at least they noticed the hit and took some action.

Funny, I'll bet Hakstol destroyed Weise after the Chicago game when they went through video. He had a chance to obliterate Panik (I think it was Panik). Panik was in the middle right side around his blueline getting the puck and was upright with no clue Weise had him lined up. I'm going to bet Weise took heat for letting up and now he's suspended for going to far adjusting his physicality switch.

too high, not sure its suspension worthy but too high.
Pastrnak pissy last night, he also shoved Vesey after his goal.

 

Pastrnak gets to sit for two for checking Girardi's head. I hope he learns from this and we do not see him turn into some asshole like we've seen too often. I like this player and think Matty's got a real good one if he sticks to playing hockey.

i dont think the timing of the Pastrnak hit was wrong. making himself that vulnerable is on Girardi but the height of the hit has to be on Pastrnak.
i wouldnt call it a gooney play at all, more unfortunate.

one of my biggest issues w/ Chara is that he lets rats like this get away w/ crap like this. take the 2min/4min penalty and crush Steve Ott.

 

I was embarrassed watching that play transpire. Before the season i was stoked the Wings were getting Ott. After watching him play a few games, i realized im not the fan i thought i'd be. Last nights spear really tilted the balances for me... he's a DOOSH and better straiten up.

If thats what he brings to a game im sorry to say he's a Red Wing.

 

Chara turns 40 in march, as he ages and starts to withdraw more from the physical play and refuse to drop the gloves, all the d-bags in the league will jump on this. The more word gets out that you could get away with doing this, the more it will happen. This will be a way for other teams to show the bruins that chara doesn't own them anymore like he used to, it will play on their psyche, and show the rest of the league that the days of chara, lucic and thornton are over.
