  1. it's a real shame they can't just throw this loser out of the league permanently.

  2. Willie Head Coach Manager News & Notes Vikings

He hasnt killed anybody yet. You know how it is... ya gotta have a complete meltdown, then something gets done.

i was shocked they gave him 41, i thought the newscaster was wrong when i first heard it.
    well done Stephane.

Sharks don't have to pay him during that time right?

  4. actually, they do have to pay him - but he doesn't get the money. his forfeited salary goes to the players' emergency assistance fund.

  5. in this case, that's $440,860.29

i feel so bad for raffi, i mean, he's really a good guy, he's just misunderstood.

    *JOKINGLY*

  6. oh ya, a further thought - now that mclellan's gone, it wouldn't hurt my feelings if the sharks never won another game.

i think they should lose raffi's roster slot for half the season too.

  7. mattymcgee55 Legend Patriots Bruins

no one here would be as happy as me if they go 0-82.

  8. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

Stage 2 means he can't come back until doctors say he can come back. He's suspended, no pay. Zack done fucked up.

amuzing how many former and current nucks players have hit the headlines in the last couple of days.

    And no Burrows

    Impressive.

    41 games for torres. ouch.

I was taking in some of Mike Commodore's thoughts on Torres:

I'm liking Commodore the Twitterer. Didn't give him much regard during his playing days. That image is classic Raffi. Too bad we won't see a Triple Axel Skull Crusher until at least late January now.

  14. frank, i think you're confused here. the triple axel is a 3 and a half rotation edge jump, and u take off skating backwards. i just can't see torres not facing his victim, so i think it's a lutz, not an axel.

  15. mattymcgee55 Legend Patriots Bruins

is it a lutz when you keep your elbows at temple height?

  16. lol matty. proper form for the lutz requires arms tucked to ribcage. elbows out = slower rotation = u ain't gonna make the required revolutions.

i'm pretty sure raffi gets marked down for (lack of) technical merit.

but ffs, it's been too long since i watched this stuff. my bad the lutz is also a jump launched backwards. it's 3 even, not 3 and a half, so it's landed backwards as well. now i gotta research it. a fucking salchow?

  17. DOH. the axel is a forward launch, i had it and the lutz swapped.

and nfw do u land the any of these with your elbows out. very low scores guaranteed.

I was quite certain that Raffi was a TA master, at least in hockey terms. Those collisions with the airborne artistry had me convinced.

  19. he's no midori ito :)

she landed triple axels better than most men. iirc, tonya harding landed the triple axel twice, becoming the second woman to ever land it, after midori. midori landed them on a regular basis.
