The way I see it, when kadri made up his mind to circle the back of the net, fraser wasn't in a postition where his head was exposed for kadri to target his head. As he was circling the net his head quickly and suddenly became exposed, so, it was either a split second decision on his part to hit his head or it was an accident.

Kadri get's 4 games, does it matter anyway? I'm sure this came into play, the season's meaningless and once again, he's being used as a scapegoat.

good points Skinny. if the Leafs were in a playoff race the league may have been more lenient.

how about Shaw and the headbutt from yesterday? i really hope that he reaches Marchand levels of dirty so that I can share in my misery.

I find it funny that shanahan or stephane find it so easy to flex their muscles when nobody cares anymore. I keep looking at that play and I'm beginning to think that kadri lifted his arms up as way to defend himself from getting hit in the ribs.

Shaw got away with his headbutt on his Brockness.

Shaw was agitating, Brock escalated with bullshit, and Shaw opened up a can of dirty NFK.

No hearing, he correctly received a major/misconduct on the ice and the league left it at that. While perfectly understandable why Shaw would retaliate, I thought they should have made him sit for a couple games because he used equipment as a weapon just like an elbow or stick. I wasn't happy that he got away with it but I don't think the precedent was there to give him more than a game because they did get it right on ice.

  9. i don't remember who it was, but one of the flames made a bad hit (boarding) last night coming down the stretch in the 3rd with the game tied. he was lucky to only get a minor for it, i thought at the time, and i'm somewhat surprosed there's nothing about a hearing for it posted yet. he boarded the guy from behind, and left his feet to do it. maybe they'll still announce a hearing later.

  14. it won't be 10, i just read on nhl.com that it's a phone hearing. i think that means the most it can be is 4 - maybe 5.

About time Byfuglien was fined. My favorite part of the game was watching Buff lose a race against Kreider to give up the game losing goal. Then Buff takes a stupid penalty after in the last minute icing the win for the Rags.

When are coaches going to stop playing him so much at big points in games? 6 year sample size going back to Chicago. WPG might get the best of both world's though, big games without Byfuglien in the lineup and then if they win, they get his worn down ass some rest so he might be useful in round one.

I don't think anything will happen, but this should have been a major.
    Great awareness by Shaw.
    At home
    Up by one
Chance to pass them in the standings for home ice
    Offensive zone
    Power play.

Shaw negates the pp and STL goes on to tie it in the second.
Later, Shaw loses a faceoff clean to give up the GWG to this guy: [IMG]
I was really ticked off at Q for letting him take a d zone draw.

Anyway, that type of malicious hit by Shaw is something I wish they would suspend. As soon as he's a touch slower he's out of a NHL job unless he is capable of doing this. The league is enabling it and we can expect Shaw to hurt somebody in the future. I don't think it's much of a decision for a player, play at or over the edge and draw a NHL paycheck or go to the AHL. Technically, I think the refs got the call right but the rules allow for interpretation that makes it a major.
