So Gidion is all Steelers fans?

Didn't have much issue with anything else thats here, may not agree with everything but thats kind of the point of a message board. Be quite boring if everyone always agreed, and I believe you mentioned something along those lines during this debate. But be careful when painting with broad brushes...I try to avoid getting lumped in with the type of Steelers fan whose only response to any argument is 6 rings...

 

Gidion made a comment about ALL Bears fan being assholes. And that's because I'm an asshole....and the only Bears fan contributing to this thread right now.

So my retort was to make a comment that said it was about ALL Steeler fans....when it was really only about him.

I haven’t had any interactions with Bears fans ( except babyfan) that the Bears fans don’t act like assholes.

There are a bunch of posters here just like gidion that want to stir shit up but also want to act innocent at the same time and say other people started it. So many posters that love throwing insults but then get offended when an anonymous internet contributor says they’re stupid....despite the fact they can’t and might never see the actual person behind the words they see on their screen.

I might be a jerk but you’ll never see me back down or hide from my words. You’ll never see me take this too serious or personal. You know exactly what you’re getting with me.

If words on a computer screen offend you.....you may want to reconsider if you’re mature enough to post on a message board.

I beat you to it, @BearsWillWin . I did a quick Google search for "NFL QB's of the 1960's" and found an article Ranking the QB's from this decade. I have no idea what criteria they used for their ranking but it came out like this:

1. Johnny Unitas - Colts
2. Bart Starr - Packers
3. Joe Namath - Jets
4. Sonny Jurgenson - Redskins
5. Len Dawson - Chiefs
6. Roman Gabriel - Rams
7. George Blanda - Raiders
8. Fran Tarkenton - Vikings
9. Y.A. Tittle - Giants
10. Daryle Lamonica - Raiders

I was thinking more than a list and actually giving some opinions on each and what memories we actually have...on that list I think I saw 6 of them play live.

And then moving on the to the 70s, 80s, and so on.

 

I saw Otto Graham play live.

I saw Bobby Layne but I was very young.

 

I saw Johnny Unitas Chargers last season
Joe Namath . Actually saw him and Johnny Unitas in a Monday night game. What a shit fest that game was

i hate to say this BWW but that's not exactly true. On the Cody Parkey thread, I was not there to rub the Eagles win in your faces. I was accused of gloating in the win when not one post i posted stated that. It was about the miss rather than the win. I was there to read the hatred from Bears fans to Parkey, which were sure to be comical. Much like when Mitch Williams blew the 93 World Series.

Then it was mentioned the ball was tipped and many Bears didn't agree that the tip caused the ball to not sail through the uprights. More Bears fans seemed mad at the inclination the ball was tipped over Parkey just sucking. You were upset and you stated so. You went after me and LAOJOE about our posts when you were more pissed about the miss the next day and you said "i didn't sleep at all last night?" I still can't get over that. You and others told me, Joe and others to get off the Cut Cody Parkey thread, so you were taking the loss personally and our post. You said I was the fakest person on here and the least sincere person. That's being personal, and is untrue. Now again it stemmed from the Bears crushing loss, but don't say you don't get personal because you do and did that day on the thread.

 

Well yeah I take Bears losses personal. I can’t help that. They’re my favorite team and football is my favorite sport. I won’t apologize for that.

I wasn’t on my best behavior that day. I was still drunk and hadn’t slept. The best thing anyone could have done was just stayed away. And even after receiving several much more than subtle hints....you kept posting.

I never said I was perfect. But you deserved a lot of what you got that day because you didn’t know when it was time to just shut up.

I didn’t come to the Eagles board to take a piss after they lost the next week. Because I know the feeling and wouldn’t want anyone bothering me when the Bears lose. There’s a code involved there in my opinion. And you can say you had good intentions and all that, and that’s fine you probably did, but it came across just shitty.

We don’t care the ball was tipped. Because it was barely tipped...to call that a block is a joke. And did you really think saying “Hey guys, relax it was a block” was gonna make anyone feel better?

My wife knows that if the Bears, Blackhawks, or Cubs lose an important game or series that I need a little space before she can really bother me. Call it childish but I was like that when I was 15 and now that I’m gonna be 65 soon it hasn’t changed. I make no apologies for it. You and Joe shouldn’t have been there posting that day.

I’m sorry but I do think you’re fake. I think a lot of people here are. The whole be nice for the sake of being nice stuff doesn’t make sense to me. It’s silly. Be honest and say what’s on your mind. Makes life easier. I think you’re like a lot of people here where this catfish person you are here probably isn’t the same as the guy typing on the keyboard. Which is fine if that works for you, it doesn’t work for me.

I don’t think you’re a bad guy. I think you’re one of the better ones here and I enjoy interacting with you a lot.

I’m the same person everywhere I go and in everything I do. It’s the only way I know how to be. I don’t pull punches and I say exactly what’s on my mind. Some people don’t like and that’s totally fine.

If you act like an ass...I’m gonna call you an ass. The problem is not a lot of people like admitting they’re an ass. I don’t have an issue with it...I know exactly what I am.

 

i didn't ask you to apologize. football is a great game. many of us live and die by our football teams - high school, college or pro.

it's a public message board. you can't expect people to stay away. it's the nature of all sports and look how the eagles lost bww. they blew a 14-0 lead. they were driving to win the game and a tipped ball went for an int on the 40 yrd line. like that isn't a kick in the balls??? guess where i was ? back on the site the next day. i congratulated SoCal Saints and BFRLA - 2 proud Saints fans in the win. i took my lumps. all sports fans should expect losses. you and some other bears fans due to how you lost didn't take it as well. that's not on me.

it wasn't immediately. you're wrong. it was the next day. you had from 8pm to 9 am -- 18 HOURS to get over the loss. you didn't. you drank And stayed up the whole night getting more angry at Cody Parkey. That's not my fault. The Bears def let the Eagles march down the field and score a TD on a long 4th and goalline play with a min to go. You should've been mad at that. and again, i wasn't on main Bears board saying "ha ha ha you lost." I was on the CUT CODY PARKEY thread where i was talking about Parkey and not the Bears overall. You, dline and BF acted like I called your Mother a bad name or smeared the Bears franchise. I didn't. It was 1 Bear-Cody Parkey, who they cut later on.

how the fuck am I and Joe know about your past and bottling up something like that. that is entirely on you. Now I know you do this, i got the memo from BWW, Inc. I'm good to go. Again, this is a public site where people post on the fly seconds after something happens. you had 18 hrs. You can't expect people to stay away when it's fair game on all topics. The Saints got cheated in the playoffs. Like that wasn't worse than Cody Parkey missing. They were on here taking their loss and lumps.

you're wrong about me. im a realist and i type and say what i feel 100%. since you don't believe me, there's a guy on the hockey threads named Kilkenny Dan. Smart guy. Ivy League guy. We had our differences and battles over the years. Two years ago we met for a Red Wings game in Detroit. Neither of us are Red Wings fans but it was the last season of Joe Louis Arena and I really wanted to go and he had tix, so we met up. Dan and I think and act differently. Since that meeting, he sees me as the same person- the typist poster and me. I am certainly not fake. And if you were sick or in need or advice I could offer since i have a ton of legal and medical family members, i would call and text them in 2 seconds if you needed help. Lord knows you haven't been the nicest to me on here but i believe in helping others when needed. That's not fake and that's not me. i can't be 2 different people - the person on here and at home. way too much to separate. im 1 person. the same person.

you and i are the same and we don't hold back and are passionate about a lot of things. i don't hold back punches either. im less likely to call someone an ass though.

we had our battles and i agree, i enjoy posting with you on here. you have a ton of insight and knowledge across the board on a ton of topics and not just chicago teams.

 

Everyone takes their teams losses personally, If you don’t you aren’t a true fan.

 

it's how you take them is the key. personal is one thing. are you bitter for a day, week, month? are you suicidal? people accept loss in different ways. and some do it better than others.
