Garrett's promotion has been questioned from day one. No experience whatsoever and being touted as the man to take them where Wade couldn't (by Jerry). It will be a while in my opinion before the red Jesus is let go because it was Jerry that hired him and his ego ain't gonna admit defeat, just look at him at GM.
Actually on NFL network today, on the ticker at the bottom it pretty much said (as per one of their beat writers) that if the "Boys" miss the playoffs than Garrett is done. Give or take....bout time I say.
Possibly same thing for Schwartz and Martin Mayhew in Detroit. Personally I think they should keep Mayhew, but whatever....
From Stephen Jones: Executive vice president Stephen Jones told [Mike] Silver that everybody in the organization is under pressure to perform for their jobs over the next two weeks. That includes "players, coaches, executives -- everybody." That's the way it should be. Three and a half years is enough.
Third time in three years Dallas will play a division rival for the NFC East title on the last week of the season. 2011: lost at Giants, 31-14. 2012: lost at Washington, 28-18. At least this one's in Dallas.
I can't see that defense stopping Foles. Romo is going to have to be otherworldly to win this one. Eagles 41, Cowboys 24 imo.
They did before, no...? But yeah -- Dallas is gonna need to get some bodies back healthy (Sean Lee, Mo Claiborne) and come up with a great plan to slow that offense down. Run the ball with DeMarco Murray, mebbe...?
Dallas won earlier in the year when Foles was still getting comfortable. The offense got nowhere. Dallas' best defensive game in what 100 years (jk). I seriously don't think Dallas has much of a chance but then again the Eagles laid an egg vs the Vikings last week. If the Eagles don't beat Dallas they have no chance vs the 49ers, Saints or Panthers the next week, nevermind the Saints/Panthers the next week. The Cardinals are a different story. That being said it would suck to get swept by Dallas.
Again, not trying to be a hater, but I've come to expect Dallas to lose important games like this. Kinda the same way I expect the sun to rise at some point each morning
A game I will be really interested in is Bills vs Patriots. The Bills crushed the Dolphins in a game that the Bills didn't need but the fins sure did. New England is fighting for a bye. It likely is the difference between a bye and then facing Indy/Cincy/6 seed or having to play the Chiefs right away before possibly going to Denver.
Fun fact:The Buffalo Bills have never won in Gillette Stadium, which opened back in 2002. Wouldn't been surprised if they play the pats tight but, they always find a way to lose. I expect this to be their 13th straight loss in foxborough.
The Eagles still need to win this week and two more times for this to matter but am I ever glad we wouldn't have to meet the Seahawks until the NFC Championship. Eagles can only be a #3 and Seahawks will be a #1 or #5.
If Tampa can take Seattle to overtime there and Arizona beat them there, and IF the Eagles made it that far, then why can't they beat them too?
I would much rather have someone else take them out than travel out west to play them. Just playing the Odds. Anyone that can make it that far can win it all.
