Honestly did not think the Falcons had a chance after the Saints got it down inside the red zone. Once Ginn made his catch, I thought it was a Saints victory. Matt Ryan played like crap most of the game, actually reminded me of Big Ben the way he was forcing throws to Jones. Injuries just too much...not to play the "if" game too much, but if Kamara doesn't get concussed Saints probably win...
Once they lost Kamara they went away from the run game or even using the running back in general. Ingram had a few big plays but all in all they didn't use him properly and kept forcing the deep pass or running (or short passing to him) only once in each set of downs at most. For a while it reminded me of Atlanta literally throwing away the SB.
OJ Howard caught the ball and fumbled. Lions ball but the refs say it was an unsportsmanlike hit to the head. It was to the shoulder and they even call it incomplete. 15 yard penalty from the previous spot. So now Lions are challenging it was a catch because then they would have to negate the penalty since he is no longer defenseless. It would then be a turnover. Back to the definition of a catch. I think it was one.
A couple things: I think Savage was benched, not sure it was injury related because he got his helmet back. That's not supposed to happen with a head injury. If I was coaching in the Snow Globe in Buffalo, I wouldn't even put a returner for punts. Go for the block, can't afford a muff which is likely in those conditions. Kizer has looked pretty good today, nice TD pass to Gordon. Might be their last, best chance to get that elusive win. If that happens, look for Hundley to be run out of Green Bay Damn you Thielen for dropping 2 TD passes on the same drive! Looks like the Chiefs have finally stopped the bleeding, potentially setting up a big showdown with the Chargers next week Lions have done everything they can to keep the Bucs in their game. That Cowboys/Giants game looks like a good rivalry game. Throw out the records!
Well, evidently I was wrong about Savage...but I wouldn't be surprised if he loses his job to Yates next week
If the Packers lose look for Hundley to finish the year as the starter since Rodgers won't be coming back. Kizer has looked really good today. I've gotta give him props. He needs to keep this level of play the rest of the season though. He needs to be outstanding, not just show flashes. It's not his fault as much as the situation the team is in.
