    Bullshit. Ryan Pace can stop it.

    If Pace has to pull a Billy Beane from 'Moneyball' and trade/cut/make guys inactive so Nagy/whomever calls the plays stops using guys I don't want to see on my TV anymore--he has that power/authority.

    'Doing nothing' and 'we just need a good week of practice' aren't options if they want to keep their jobs. If Pace continues to be 'hands off' then BWW is right--if the Bears can shitcan Lovie after a 10-6 year where the team played hard for him--they can shitcan Nagy.

    Sadly, they wont. Too many teams will be looking for a coach next year. Minny, Detroit, Houston, Atlanta, Jax, Denver, possibly San Diego, possibly Dallas with THAT shitshow, and if Bill Belichick decides to mail it in--add New England. That could be 9 teams that aren't the bears looking for new HCs/coaching staffs.

    At least we had a running game then.

    * That O-Line performance was every bit as bad as i feared it would be. And it makes me mad as hell that i am still talking about this shit cos its been going on for years and Fuckface Pace has nothing nothing about it. They are an abomination, pathetic in every way. Other OLs around the league who are struggling have been decimated with injuries or are the Jets. The Bears have 1 guy out. Other than play design/calling almost everything bad that happened on Offense last night, started with the O-Line.

    If it were up to me everyone that started last night would be gone. Only one worth keeping is Daniels but in reality you can't cut that many. I've always liked Whitehair, but even tho he's has been ass this season you can't eat $11.2mil in dead cap, especially with dead cap to eat in so many other places. Leno & Massie combined are like $8mil in dead cap, that has to be a done deal. Ifedi is just a guy and on a 1year deal he's gone too.

    * This brings me to Pace. Of all the failings we've seen from Pace as Bears GM...well... Trubisky would have to be #1. But a close second is his complete negligence in building even a league average level O-Line.

    Pace hasn't drafted a single Tackle in the first 5 rounds.....EVER!!!! I had to go to 2 different sites to confirm that cos i just couldn't believe it. His first draft he took some bum in the 6th round that went nowhere. Then this year, with Tackle a huge area of need, Pace waited to the 7th round. I mean thats not even black humour funny, thats just straight up dereliction of duty. I know i harp on about the trenches a lot, but given the level of play the Bears have had from the Tackle position the last 6seasons, that right there is straight fireable offense to me. That is saying "i don't understand how to build an Offense in today's NFL". Hell anyday's NFL!

    And i used to hang the O-Line squarely on Pace. But honestly, at this point it has to fall on Nagy as well. Surely he knew the OL play last season was dogshit. And he thought the answer was a league min vet, a 7th round pick and a new position coach?? Get the fuck out of here! Pace and Nagy both own the OL failure imo.

    * I could write 10pages about what a fuck up Nagy is, but at this stage whats the point. The guy is in totally over his head running an Offense, or managing a game. A few things though:

    - On the Foles pick you 1- take out Graham inside the 10? And 2- call a wrong side boot that immediately cuts off half the field and means your QB can only float the ball? Garbage garbage playcall.

    - The 2 & 4 end of the 1st half play to Mooney was a lovely little play that had Mooney coming out the backfield and getting the ball on the run/in space allowing YAC. 18yard play, very low risk.... and Nagy never went back to it the rest of the game.

    - The 4th & 1play. Misdirection toss play left to the short side of the field to Patterson. On a must-have play that is NOT the play i am calling. But its worse. I went back and watched that play again afterwards cos the analyst blamed Wims for losing on his block. Well, Wims was 1 on 1 with a 250lb LB barrelling towards him, so yeah, he lost. But Coward blocked nobody at all so was he meant to help? Also even if they blocked that guy, ARob had to go up and try to block a DB in space which also failed and he too would've stopped #84. Meanwhile Leno pulls around both WR's to take on the wide CB. WTF is this? Just horrible horrible play design. Massively over-complicated, massively taxing from an assignment perspective and not at all high % imo. And thats your go to play on a must-have 4th & 1?? Fuck you Nagy.

    * Foles first pick in the endzone was just ugly as fuck. He's really hurting the Offense with this sub-Cutler level decision making that happens every game at least once. But honestly, other than that, i don't put a whole lot on him. As well as the 4sacks, Foles absorbed another 8 QB hits and countless hurries. He was under duress almost every throw. The guy only had 12 incompletions and almost every one was the result of being flushed or not being able to step into the throw cos an OL was being walked back into his face. You can't play QB that way.

    * Please cut Ted Ginn immediately. I'm insulted by how much he obviously doesn't give a shit returning punts.

    * While you're at it Pace, please trade Patterson. The guy is on the field way too much and Nagy won't change that so just get rid.

    * Demetrius Harris had his worst game of the season. Im done seeing him out on routes being targeted in the pass game.

    * The MLB's on this team just stink. But i've even worn myself down with this shitfest post so i can't get into that right now, i just cant do it.

    * 6 tackles, 2 TFLs, 2 sacks & 3 QB hits. That is what's known as stuffing the stat sheet. Its also exactly why i wasn't looking forward to watching Leonard Floyd go up against this crotch ass O-Line.

    Goodbye.

    Glad you reposted cos that is fucking insane. Its never been easier to play offense and that is what they've achieved under Nagy. And its not like 21points is even good, its the opposite of good. Unbelievable.

    I don't care how good an o-line is when you take over (and ours was actually crappy) but there's no excuse for any GM on any team in the history of the NFL to not take a single OT in the first 5 rounds in 6 consecutive years. I would take OTs every year for depth, even if I had the 1995 Cowboys o-line.

    Combine that with the Trubisky gaffe, Pace will never have a serious job in the league once Georgie and the old hag decide it's time to cut losses.

    Can you honestly see Pace calling Nagy into his office and telling him he needs to give up play calling? He has the power but he doesn’t have the balls. That’s what I think.

    Don't watch the current Q&A with Nagy. It's bad. Every question has been, "Why did you do this thing", and his answers have been "We thought it was a good idea, and if it had worked, it would have been". That's it. He thinks they were good decisions and there was just "a football thing" preventing them from a home run.

    I tuned in by accident - popped up on my phone - and damnit I regret it.

    "When it works it's good, and when it doesn't work it's not good". For f***'s sake.

    If he has the balls to trade picks.....he should have the balls to do the right thing for the team.

    If he lacks the balls...all the more reason he should be out of a job.

    I think he was just being honest, nice guy as he is, talking to a "friend" and didn't think about it getting blown out of proportion. But when you hear this, plus Foles animated on the sidelines? It paints an accurate picture that our veteran QB knows Nagy is in over his head. That's why people are talking about it. I don't think it shows division in the locker room or anything like that, instead, it shows that Foles isn't blind to Nagy's playcalling or how good the line is. Which is good, because you'd have to be blind to think either of these things are any good.

    I had to go find my image editing program, because I can't give him any more of the benefit of the doubt. And when we get a new GM, the cupboard is going to be as bare as Emery left it, it just took a few years longer. I still think he's done some good things on Defense but this offense is a dumpster fire at every level. The Emery comparison is unfair maybe, but an Angelo comparison would be spot fucking on.

    Honestly guys, pat points it out as I did there are worse dysfunctional teams on the upcoming schedule. To me, with the extra playoff spot, means the Bears will be in the running. This team unfortunately needs everything to go right to win. I forsee them getting fucking *rocked* by the hated Packers, and bounced from the playoffs early. I don't see how you fix this. Good GMs and HCs are hard to find, and many other teams are going to be fighting for the same. And who wants to take over where there have been huge offensive questions for the past 30 years?

    I don't think we're overreacting to one bad loss either. The issues on this team haven't been here for just this year either, they've been here in all of Nagy's term, it's just that 2018 we had a good enough Defense to mask and slip into the playoffs (sound familiar?). Expecting things to change by doing the same things, is just hope.

    Fuck....taking an honest look at the schedule....this team probably wins just enough games to sneak into the playoffs and get bounced in the first game.

    I have a hard time seeing a scenario when the McCaskey's dump Pace or Pace dumps Nagy.

    All the things going wrong on the field are things we've been talking about on this board for a while.

    I will say...I appreciate you guys that post here. I post on other message boards sometime, not CCS anymore because that place will give you an aneurysm. But it's a joke on these other sites. I feel like some of the smarter Bears fans reside on this board. Except Ev.....sheep humping moron.

    Nagy is in over his head but so is Foles. I mean one of the things that proves Nagy doesn’t know what he is doing is choosing Foles as his QB.

    Saints = Loss
    Titans = Loss
    Vikings = Win
    Packers = Loss
    Lions = Loss (we got lucky winning week 1)
    Texans = Loss (Deshaun revenge for not drafting him)
    Vikings = Loss
    Jaguars = Win
    Packers = Loss

    You honestly see more than 3 wins? I guess if we sweep the Vikings, but that's pushing it.

  15. BearsWillWin Drunk (Probably) Patreon Champion Manager Bears Blackhawks Cubs

    I could see them beating the Lions, Texans, and Vikings both time. Not saying they will...but it's totally doable.

  16. blang84 Legend Bears

    It was Pace who chose Foles. Nagy had to choose between him and Trubisky. Damned either way but at least he went with the smarter more experienced option.

  17. dlinebass5 M.V.P. Bears

    This team has stumbled into wins already this season. I agree that the fear is they will do it enough to save Nagy and Pace's job. I have honestly had that fear for at least two years, now. I had to hire a therapist just over Pace getting an extension before his last year was up and he actually proved anything. That therapist quit.

    I don't even know what direction this franchise goes if they really do only wins 2 games the rest of the season and actually fire Pace and Nagy.

    Eric Bieniemy is gonna be a hot name. Would we nab another Reid guy? Likely not.

    Robert Saleh intrigues me. Josh McDaniels without GM powers intrigues me. Press Taylor as a possible OC candidate. Rich Scangarello.

    Right a wrong and just hire Dave Toub as HC.

    But the bigger question is how to right the wrongs on the field.....

  19. blang84 Legend Bears

    He seems like a hot name only because he rides the coattails of Mahomes and Reid's success. Reid does the playcalling and Mahomes is a super hero. What exactly does Beiemiemy do?

    I think we should look to the college ranks for our next HC. That's where the offensive innovation is taking place before migrating its way up to the big leagues.

    I'm guess Dabo Swinney has it too good to ever leave Clemson. Lane Kiffin still needs to prove he can actually win at the D1 level before I trust him in the NFL. I don't watch college a whole lot, but there seems to be up-n-comers like Lincoln Riley, PJ Fleck, James Franklin, Ryan Day who all might make the jump.

    Patg any thoughts?
