Torgo, thanks for chiming in man, I really like the improvements the FO has made in the off season, it really seems like they’re on the same page. as far as the Falcons go, I thought they found their identity last year and really ran the ball well. Hopefully Ridder is your guy and takes them to the next level.
Those announcers were cringe worthy. Even if Ridder was out there the Pittsburgh Defense is much improved and I don’t see them having success 1’s on 1’s.
The Falcons announcers were still blaming the fact that the Steelers played their starters in the second half when they came out after the first two possessions.
Steelers Release Eight Players Saturday no surprises with the first 8 cuts. Ok, maybe a little surprised Green wasn’t among them but that’s it. Also Gentry in a walking boot, Tomlin said he’s fine Injury Roundup: TE Zach Gentry Has Boot On Left Foot, Nate Herbig Says He's Ready - Steelers Depot
What I did like is the way the announcers pointed out the specific Falcons offensive players who got torched on the key plays, particularly two sacks. The swing tackle role might now be Atlanta's greatest immediate roster need. The leading contender for that role got hurt earlier in the offseason and is on IR. The #2 choice did well against Miami, but not so well against the Bengals or Steelers and has now been released. The guy behind Door #3 gave up an awful sack against Miami and was responsible for another one against Pittsburgh. There really isn't a strong option sitting on the roster. Otherwise, they weren't the "real" Falcons announcers. You probably have the same kind of clown show in most markets, as the specific home market TV stations choose the announcing teams. In this case, the play-by-play guy for the Falcons preseason games is best known as one of the commentators of the Westminister Kennel Club Dog Show. I only wish I was making that up. So... "cringe worthy" is an understatement.
