Hainsey reminds me of just what kind of player your going to receive in a deal like this. Good player for a second round pick aint bad. Hainsey is proven and the prospect could be anything but.

When is Kenny going to trade anybody?

He has about 8 bodies that should go or need to go.
I'm sure a franchise or two might even like the Mule to fill their cap requirement.

With Matta and Daley out, Hainsey is a good minute plug. He plays both sides, and I think it's about slotting the rest of the lineup correctly until more bodies return. I expect Rutherford to make another deal before the deadline too. There are a few holes to plug.

What was Bouwmeester's streak of playoff-less games when he was traded?

  5. Willie Head Coach Manager News & Notes Vikings

    A round 737.

Rutherford did get his d-man. Will he go after another and blow his 1st round pick?

he's not using his 1st unless its something big

    Rutherford's trading of first rounders:

    Kessel...really good
    Jordan Staal...bad
Doug Weight...he was declining and contract was expiring but they won the cup so that was an ideal trade.
Traded up to grab Andrew Ladd at number 4 overall...very good trade
2000-part of a package for Sandis Ozolinsh
1997 traded down...non consequential pick swap. SJ drafted Hannan, he landed Cole. He used the trade well.

He's moved 6 firsts (unless I missed one) and only 2 of those trades bombed out (Ozolinsh and Staal) Given the likelihood of draft picks to perform well or suck, I say Rutherford's history of moving firsts is pretty good...even though I like it better when he sucks.

5 of those 6 deals were for high end players coming back. Staal was the only one I really thought was a mistake under the circumstances.

I agree with the opinions that Rutherford will NOT move a first unless it's in a package for a higher end player.

DAL traded P. Eaves to ANA for a 2nd.

I think something semi-big is brewing with some team and the Ducks.

Hawks get Jurco for a 3rd.

  11. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

Can I get a "broken clock" award? Only took 4 seasons...and I haven't thought Bowman would go for Jurco in two years. I knew Kenny and Stan couldn't ignore my messages forever.

I've been saying how good Chicago and Detroit would be good trading partners for depth players since they realigned I think. I'm down to 32 trades Chi and Det should consider.

  12. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

That's a hefty return, but for 50% retained, it does allow ANA to go for something bigger.

  13. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

That 3rd rounder must have been Carolina's from the Bickell-Teravainen trade. Looks like it will be a high 3. That is definitely higher than I thought Jurco would fetch. I'm guessing Bowman is assuming he's going to acquire some picks this summer. Bowman still has 2 extra 5ths and an extra 6th. I can't imagine he's going to keep all of them.

He made a number of smaller depth trades over the years, number 5 centers, 24th player on the roster types at 50% retained. I think he'll make at least one more move to prevent so much reliance on rookies.

  14. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

Hawks have 3 slovaks at wing right now. 3 of the 13 in the league.

I'm trying to find meaning in that, it's important. What ever it is.

  15. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

    Lennie provides.

Matt Sekeres was talking about the Canucks. He smells something with Burrows or Hansen to MIN or ANA.

    Tough to project this guy.

Friedman says FLA has interest in Perreault (WPG) who is probably going to be exposed to expansion.
Friedman also said that Kenny is attached to Anthansiou...didn't we hear that kind of stuff about Jurco, Marchenko, Smith, etc.? Time for Kenny to let go of some of these guys.

Jurco to the Blackhawks for a 3rd.

Hawks land Jurco for a 3rd.
now that he's a Hawk I think its only right to officially call him Jerko.

sneaky good trade for the Hawks here. i'll bet that he takes some of the reg. season heavy lifting from the stars in Chicago and he's only 24 and restricted after this year.

on the flip side its hard to figure out why he cant get on the scoresheet w/ all of that talent. he's got Jimmy Hayes numbers.

  20. Willie Head Coach Manager News & Notes Vikings

But, as ive seen before, he will get out of Detroit and really discover his game for Chicago, lol.
