part of Dan must be furious that this is all about a Harvard guy.

It will be infuriating if he doesn't sign. Since I place a 75% chance on him signing, I am willing to overlooking his fucking college.

    lol, i figured Dan.

hoping this has some truth to it. all i know is that I dont want TM and Pegula around this kid. one saving grace from my side is that Pegula cant throw more of his bucks at the kid than anyone else for at least 2 years. still a persuasive man nonetheless.

Yeah, the only edge the Sabres have here is his buddy Jack Eichel. Contract wise, the most Buffalo (or any other team) can go is 2 years at $925k per.

Actually, Buffalo does have one other advantage: the opportunity to play on the REV line.

    Gotta love the Rags.
All they have to do now is trade Stepan for one of Minny's costcontrolled dmen to clear space and they can make they're big run at Stamkos.

Then, if Stamkos isn't interested, they're poised to go full tank command for a year.

Rags almost always in on big stuff.

  7. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

Really surprised Murray did this for a 3rd.
I wonder how much of this was a reckless gamble and how much had to do with knowledge of events before hand.

  8. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

Looks like another prospect that wanted nothing to do with that franchise.
SJ has been on a good streak of late with acquisitions, Wilson got some mojo back last summer.

  9. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

I think that's a very reasonable gamble for the Leafs and a little too much for a goalie on the extension. If he's a 55 start number 1, this trade will be a steal. Should be interesting to see how he acclimates to a weaker team in front of him next year.

I'm personally enjoying the Malkin to Chicago rumors

Lol this one tweet by (NOT) Evgeni Malkin is great
"Hawks fans, you just traded Brian bickell and teuvo teravainen to sign Andrew shaw. You can't afford evgeni malkin. Shut up."

It's a day later and I still don't like the deal, although I'm not as upset about it as yesterday. A goalie like andersen, if you really tried, you could get him in a couple of years. It would've been good to keep bernier or maybe get a stop gap like a hiller while the kids develop. Andersen had a solid D in front of him and they chose gibson over him, so that's a bit telling in itself. To commit to five years with such a little track record, and they're using his height as one of the reasons, sounds weak.

  13. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

    So are Hawks boards everywhere.
Everybody knows it's stupid, but everybody is still jumping on board the dumbarse express.

Hawks are up to trading RockyWirtz, Pokka, Shaw, Seabrook, Schmaltz and 8 first rounders for Malkin @ 55% now.

  14. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

Oh and a 2019 4th from Pit to smooth it all out.

  15. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

I'm with you Skinny. I think what you're talking about would be better.
It's a weak goalie market, they must really like him. All intangibles aside, he has played behind a strong possession system with dmen taking gambles regularly, he is a better fit than I think Bishop would have been.

Good Luck Kenny. If Chicago had to move Teravainen for Bickell's 4.5 (4 million cap hit) only to get a 50th overall coming back, Holland better be ready to buck up to move Datsyuk's contract.

  18. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

Then again, he should be saving those prospects to get Howard's deal out of the way instead.

At least the Stamkos to Detroit rumors are still rolling.

  19. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

I forgot, the big difference with Datsyuk is he won't cost a penny. Bickell was 4.5 of real money.

Smaller franchises deal in real dollars, big spenders deal in cap dollars.

  20. KilkennyDan Let's Go Buffalo! Patreon Champion Sabres Bills Kilkenny

I just want to remind everyone that the Buffalo Sabres are big spenders.

It must truly suck to root for a team not owned by Terry Pegula.
