  1. mattymcgee55 Legend Patriots Bruins

terrible deadline. unless the deals are rolling in late lennie was right.
only 1st rounder in play was for Ladd and no real big moves on deadline day.

  3. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

Columbus with nothing...because that makes all sorts of sense?

  4. mattymcgee55 Legend Patriots Bruins

Bruins land Jon Michael Liles for???????
Liles blows. was Mezjaros not available?

  5. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

    Lennie was right. Nothing today.

I really thought there was going to be a bunch of AHL/low depth swaps.

  6. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

Stempniak gets his 22nd team jersey

I'm ok w/ adding a couple depth players if the Bruins were in a position to strike but they aren't. the additions aren't that a bad because I'm assuming they were cheap but not moving Loui sucks. i'll eat crow if they wind up resigning him or making to the ECF but i don't see either as likely.
still only a couple legit NHL defensemen on that roster, especially looking at top 4s.

  8. KilkennyDan Let's Go Buffalo! Patreon Champion Sabres Bills Kilkenny

Anaheim Ducks get F Jamie McGinn
Buffalo Sabres get Conditional 3rd Round Draft Pick

The third-round pick becomes a second-rounder if the Ducks win two playoff rounds. If it's a third-round pick, it will be in 2016. If it is escalated to a second-round pick, that selection will be made in 2017.

I guess both I and TM were holding out for more for Jamie since I thought he was worth a #45-55 pick overall. Instead he went for a #75-85.

I'm glad Chad Johnson wasn't moved and expect he'll get a one year deal to keep him in Buffalo next year. If he's ballsy he may ask for two years to make it less likely he'd have to go through this deadline drama in another year.

I hope the Ducks get bounced fairly early since I'd rather have the third in-hand this year than a 2nd next year. Jamie may very well return to Buffalo in July since his bff is ROR.

    trades still creeping in.

McGinn moved for a 3rd/cond 2nd to ANA
Brett Sutter going to the Kings
    Mattau for Devante-smith-johnson-patel-Jackson-kelley
Aaron Portzline @Aportzline 41m41 minutes ago

That's a shame, hate to see people that hate their jobs so much they don't even try.

so a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th for Stempniak and Liles....what's the plan exactly Don?

I think the big loser today has to be Vancouver. Congrats Rediiis

  10. As a Hurricane fan I'm very happy. We got a lot more than I expected. A player, a 3rd and a 5th for a defenseman who shows up about 60% of the time to play. :D

  11. mattymcgee55 Legend Patriots Bruins

agreed. congrats to you on that one mikey.

boy that GM tree of Chiarelli's really hit a home run today.

  13. So I'll let everyone grade Ron Francis first pressure type trade deadline deals:

Canes give up: Eric Staal, Kris Versteeg and Jon Michael Lyles

    Canes receive:
19 year old C/LW Aleksi Saarela
21 Year old RW VAlentin Zykov RW
22 Year old LW Anthony Camara

    A 2016 2nd rounder, 3rd rounder, 5th rounder
    A 2017 2nd rounder and a conditional 5th rounder.

I seem to think Ron did a pretty good job. Our average age dropped to 25.25 years Right now we have 44 million in cap space for 2016-2017. With a young core of good solid players could Steven Stamkos be in the Canes future?

Jim Benning couldn't sell hot dogs at a dog show. Jim Benning as a pimp couldn't sell virgins. I think you get the drift. Benning can't even blow the team up properly. C'mon draft lotto, when the next disappointment arrives.

  15. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

Getting out of the Ward/Staal era is the most important thing. Time for new letters, that means dumping Jordan soon if they want to turn all the way out of the rutherford dumpster.

Ron had a good day in my opinion. He pulled the trigger

  16. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

He had offers from both Dallas and Chicago according to reports. Even if the offers were underwhelming, it would have been a far better return than losing him to FA. Supposedly the offers were in Wed and/or Thurs. I'm guessing Chicago's first and a prospect were in that big.

Garth drinks and laughs about still being able to pull off a late 2nd for Vanek.

  17. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

I can't wait to see what Benning does this summer.

  18. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

Bob Murray had a sneaky good day.

    Pirri for a 6th
    McGinn for cond 2nd/3rd
Gernat and a 4th for Maroon
Corey Tropp for Jackman and a 7th.

Ducks geared up nicely to catch up to the kings, won't be the same team to matchup against the division as last year.

  19. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

Turns out there were plenty of moves afterall.

  20. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

This has been the most challenging year to follow the Blackhawks roster, movements, and consequences/possibilities of those movements that I can ever remember. It was crazier than the great sell-off days. It's not over yet. They still have to manage performance bonus money and players coming back from IR.
