Bruins should get a D soon. sounded like Russel was possibility but now thats gone.
1- they need it so badly
2- they can leverage teams looking for Loui

 

According to what I see on Twitter they are trying to get Humuis and he is saying he won't wave his NTC to go to Boston.

 

I thought this was mostly just to round out the affiliate rosters.

 

As a Hawks fan, I dig this one.
Russell will blockshots, not make outlet passes and not drive possession. I'm guessing Hamhuis wouldn't waive to Dallas even though he said nice things about it.

alright Anaheim, now that Boedker is gone it's time to step up to the plate.

 

i have to think that Russell replacing Jokkipaka is an immediate upgrade. you can argue that it'll hurt Dallas in the long run but they just got better for this season.

 

Joe Sakic is having a decent day, (it is after all late Feb. and shirtsleeve weather here). Gelinas may not excite anyone but a third is cheap. I also think, for what ever reason, he was buried in NJ.

I'm a big Russell fan. I just don't see him making Dallas much better. He's the same guy as Oduya where one has better vision for a long pass and the other with a long shot. Russell makes too many brainfarts when he has too many minutes.

 

Do you remember my post about Tallon screwing up all his contract slots?

This is what happens when you do that, you turn what should be a late 3rd or 4th and turn it into a 6th.

 

if Dallas can shore up that leaky D then Im all for it. I think most of it is Lindy's system and the way the Fs blow the zone early but still adding a steady-ish guy on the backend will only help i think. they should(ve) grab Hamhuis too.

 

I was looking at Gelinas for Chicago. He's obviously fallen out of favor. I was hoping a prospect package and Bickell would land Gelinas' lame contract and some other buriable (My new word) players. Wasn't going to happen as soon as they took Harrison and Fraser.

 

i can't believe another team like Nashville didn't make a play for Pirri on the cheap?.like a 4th or 5th.

 

I think teams are looking at Stempniak or Parenteau more than Pirri. Murray went under the table and stole his guy. Pirri is a one trick pony, but he's really good at that trick. Take him all day for a late 6th. Unlike some of the vets out there, Pirri won't shake the fragile chemistry/lockerroom under Bruce either.
