probably a 1st. no way Buffalo does that.

I expect Garth will hold on to Hamonic unless he gets a stupid offer. He's more often making those than accepting them.

Yzer has played his cards right, IMO, and has a bidding war. I think that'll go right down to the wire today. My hunch is either STL or OTT.

    Burned that one on Timmonen.

Sweeney and Seabass will have to make a big move today. If they wait to acquire that dman at the draft, they might have a dozen teams competing with them.

Well it's obviously not going to be this year's 1st. If they knew Loui would extend, (a la ROR), then a future first is not out of the question. Of course at his age I'm not sure he would fit well in their long term plans since he'd be at the slowing down stage at the point Buffalo will be ready to challenge for the Cup.

I love Loui for next year's lineup, but I'm not sure if want him for six years.

    I heart "own rentals".

You'd probably have to give up a real good prospect, but also dump someone like Bickell.

i just don't think Loui is a fit for Buffalo. his age + where Buffalo is right now make that a square peg/ round hole situation, imo. by the time the Sabres are playing playoff hockey the window for Loui may be closing. who knows though, Pegula bucks can be very convincing.

They have Weise, Fleischmann, and Ladd.
I think Stan has done enough damage for one deadline.

Love the return two years in a row for a journeyman like winnik, let's do it all over again next year.

Winnik has taken the mantle from Dominic Moore as the deadline acquisition. unreal that he keeps coming back to Toronto. I hope he resigns on another 1 year in Toronto after next season.

At 1.5M you get the goose that just might lay the golden egg.

Those are just deadline day deals above.
Most of the cap era cup winners made a number of other trades prior to the deadline.

Rumors are starting to pop that D man Smith of the Red Wings may be moved today. I think thats the dumbest thing they could possibly do. How and who out there could replace him and at the same time be an upgrade?

no love for the Broonz of '11?
Kelly and Peverley. maybe they made their moves before the deadline.
