Wow, the Hawks have been busy. They've traded Danault & an '18 2nd to the Habs for Weise & Fleischmann, (Montreal retains some salary).

I became a Fleischmann fan when he was with the Avs. He can be extremely electrifying, or at least he could when he wasn't 31. You could just see him step it up as the game progressed. It went to OT and I said to my brother "I hope #14 doesn't get on the ice (it was against the Sabres). On cue, he jumped off the bench, took a breakaway and ended the game.

Gotta figure they're done now, except to maybe dump salary.

 

They've traded Sharp away, one of the best ambassadors for the team. They're not keeping a 2nd round pick just because they're hosting the draft. Sure they would prefer to keep the 17' over the 18' pick given the choice, but that probably has more to do with trading away 4 1sts and 2nds in 15' and 16' rather than trying to appease the fans.
