i think they need to trade him if he won't resign because they need the assets moving forward.
Excluding Jimmy Hayes and Joe morrow, not hard to exclude them, he's the last real piece of the Seguin deal and just from a PR perspective i think thats too tough a pill to swallow.
Anaheim and Boston need to lube up and hop in to bed together if Loui doesn't resign.

they traded their souls long ago for deadline rentals.

Matty, just curious, what does Morrow look like going forward?

Bob, yay or nay on Ladd after sleeping on it.

i don't like him much. seems out of position in the D zone and his offensive game isn't all that much better than average. you can usually count on him taking a huge wind up and missing the net. you guys didn't lose out on much dealing him.

Even though you directed this to Bob, I'm going to chime in. Upon reflection, I give it a thumbs up. Chicago has demonstrated the ability to keep their prospect pipeline stoked. Hell, they're doing the absurd for a defending champ.; they have the frontrunner for the Calder on their roster.

Sure, it's a high price for a rental, but (and stealing Bob's words mostly from the Hawks board) Ladd allows the team to align their roster properly for yet another SC run. I think they're the favorites since they've obviously learned how to play during the real season.

The first, IMO, is a rather small concession since they'll be drafting at or near #30. Losing Dano stings, but relative to preseason expectations he's been a disappointment this year.

You can always use a blueliner that can pot the pucks come playoff time.

Another 750K in space with that move...plus no money on the books in 17'. Not sure what Lombardi is thinking there.

Then again, it's not like Sutter would trust any other depth acquisition enough to use them.

Whoops, looks like there was salary retained somewhere. Too early on the trade.

I heart fake twitter accounts. It's easier to tell the diffference now. Used to be a blast watching the outrage.

    Yes

I like that they addressed LW.
I don't like what they paid in that particular trade but it might have been the best idea out there. I don't need to sleep on it, I need to see the weekend shake out.

    I wanted Hamhuis.

This is very true. If Dano was a surefire top 6 within the next 3 years, he wouldn't have been traded and number 1 picks are generally overrated, especially late ones.

    sign here Loui.

  17. mattymcgee55 Legend Patriots Bruins

im skeptical about Loui signing because he's never hit UFA and this is his last opportunity for a monster. hoping he signs but i'll be surprised.

CHI is retaining 50% of Scuderi and LA retaining 15% of Errorhoff

Hawks on the hook for 1.125 against the cap through next year, LA stuck carrying him for 1.125.
Hawks get the Errorhoff for 1.275 or something like that.

    Rundblad eating 100K Buried
    Harrison eating 100K buried
    Errorhoff eating 325K buried
    Bickell eating 3.05 buried
    1.125 retained on Scud.

Grand total for Chicago, 4.7 million of dead money against the cap.
