  1. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

While I don't really believe gms get away with "showcasing" prospects into their 20s like they used to, I did find it very peculiar that they chose some Icehogs over others to play with Hawks. Some made sense from a talent or cap perspective, others looked liked they were just trying to do something with guys before losing them to waivers next year.

I do imagine Bowman is trying to package any prospect not named Dano, Pokka, Forsling, or Schmaltz to get some roster help or to unload Bickell and Scuderi.

We discussed Svedberg a while ago when Myers was still in Buffalo. That's who is was referring to. I didn't really like his game then. It's too late for him to fill out, I think, at this point. Nice guy to have to startle impressionable AHL rookies, though.

He reminded me of what I think a praying mantis would look like if you stuck skates on it.

I've been wondering if that's what Buffalo has been up to lately. The Buffalo to Rochester trips had been a lot less frequent this season. But lately they've been bringing up a couple like Bailey and Catenacci (sp.?). Cat got brutalized by Guudass (sp.?); Bailey was a higher pick and a real big boy. It could be just giving 'em a taste of the NHL and see how they respond. Still, TM's not gonna keep everything he's got down on the farm. I am a little surprised Carrier has never gotten the call up, he could be a top-six LW. He also may end up being the most valuable piece in the Miller/Ott trade.

    Good comparison.
He's not much different, just better than I thought he would be. I don't think he's a top 6 on a winning team.

Andrew Ladd is now a member of the Chicago Blackhawks. Ladd for Dano and first, plus a conditional pick ? Elliotte Friedman

    reported on Sportsnet.

Dano, Chi- 1st in '16, and a conditional for Ladd, Harrison and Fraser. Winterpig retains 36% of Ladd's salary.

Plausible rumor: Drouin to Boston with Loui + going south (one of their three consecutive firsts from June and another prospect).

I don't think anyone knows for sure what Stamkos is going to do in July. Steve has all the leverage, but Yzer owns him until then. I think he'll give it a run for the Cup since his window could be closing for a while. TB would probably jump at this deal.

Boston would want more I expect, and probably attach conditions if Eriksson signed long term.

  11. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

    Dano and 1st for Ladd.

    WTF?

  12. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

I'm not a fan of this trade but Ladd fills the biggest problem on the roster, LW.

Time to see what else happens.

  13. mattymcgee55 Legend Patriots Bruins

i don't know what to make of that proposal. at first i thought no way from a Bruins perspective because Drouin has been such a punk. after letting it sink in a bit I like the idea of swinging for the fences and Drouin has such a high ceiling.
regardless of what I think Id be surprised if the Bruins trade Loui inner-division.

seeing the haul Ladd brought back must make Seabass and Sweeney smile. especially considering that the deadline itself usually gets an even better return.
    Loui > Ladd

are the Hawks that in need of a truculent F?

  15. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

    Eriksson>>>Ladd*

*-unless one is big on intangibles

I wanted Eriksson, Boedker, Hamhuis, in that order, if they were going to pay that much. Some of Ladd's retention is offset by Harrison's 100K over what can be buried.

    Matty misses Matt Fraser.

  16. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

Shaw, Bickell, Hartman, Mashinter, Labrie, Ross...all set on truculence. All sizes covered.

  17. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

    Purcell scratched late tonight too.

Parentow, a goal and an assist, I'm surprised he wasn't traded skating back to the bench.

I heard it through the grapevine.
