Potvin was the last true great leaf goalie that actually was drafted and came up throught the system.

I can't believe how everything went from "no movement" to what this month has turned into.
    Good month.

The Loonie dipped under 70cents. That cap ain't going up much unless the Loonie makes a rapid turnaround. It will be increasingly difficult to unload all the dead money hanging around rosters.

Matty has a fathead of Felix I think.

    I like that joke rediiis.

Still waiting for Droolin to get moved from TB.

Byfuglien left last night's game with an injury...that will raise some eyebrows. WPG has to move him already. FLA will pay handsomely.

Buffness to the Tallon Kitties makes sense. Winnipeg might as well take Matheson back in any hypothetical deal. He's a wildcard back on the blue line himself.

Tim Murray w/ a smart signing of Tyler Ennis whenever that was. Im giving Murray the benefit of the doubt that he saw this timeframe as a good opportunity to possibly deal Ennis w/ a contract that currently has a $4.6 cap hit but only $3.65 of real money over the next 3 seasons. Financially struggling teams that aren't worried about the ceiling should come knocking.

    Kopitar signing today?

would be really nice for the Bruins to acquire an NHL defenseman.

    Buff to Broonz?

    Get it done.

Why hasn't Cheveldayoff done anything? His season is almost over.

I thought Ennis might get moved...still might. Every time I see him I think he's about to take that next big step...and then nothing. Berglund and Ellers did that to me too.

Coyotes get defenseman Tinordi in three-team trade

The Arizona Coyotes acquired defenseman Jarred Tinordi from the Montreal Canadiens on Friday in a three-team trade also involving the Nashville Predators.

The Predators traded defenseman Victor Bartley to the Coyotes for defenseman Stefan Elliott, and the Coyotes packaged Bartley and forward John Scott to acquire Tinordi and forward Stefan Fournier from the Canadiens.

Tinordi, 23, has six assists in 46 NHL games over parts of four seasons with the Canadiens, who made him the 22nd pick of the 2010 NHL Draft.

"He's a big, young, strong kid who plays hard," Coyotes general manager Don Maloney said. "It's been a difficult year (for him), but we'll try and make it work here."

Scott, 33, has one assist in 11 games this season for the Coyotes, who on Wednesday assigned him to Springfield of the American Hockey League. He was elected the Pacific Division captain for the 2016 Honda NHL All-Star Game in a fan vote. In a statement issued Friday, the NHL said, "The League is evaluating how this trade impacts the Pacific Division roster for the 2016 All-Star Game."

Elliott, 24, has two goals and six points in 19 games. The Coyotes placed him on waivers Thursday and he cleared Friday.

Bartley, 27, has one goal and 23 points in 112 NHL games over parts of four seasons with the Predators. He has spent most of this season with Milwaukee in the AHL.

Fournier, 23, has five goals in 24 games this season for St. John's of the AHL.

Bergevin can get criticized for plenty of things during this year and previous ones, but it better not be for sitting on his hands.

Scott joins his 21st NHL franchise.
Fournier Elliot and Tinordi all low-end rehab projects. I have no idea who Fournier is, I'm guessing his value was just the paper contract slot.

This Scott movement screams to me that the league intervened somehow. He has no value to MTL. Bartley shouldn't have much of any value either, although he can play an offensive role. He's been up and down a bunch the last several seasons.

Tinordi was a former first rounder, just wasting away without waiver exemption because Bergevin couldn't find a taker.

This whole thing stinks. Either this was a full out garbage swap or somebody was calling in/for favors.

plenty of fans are now saying boycott the all-star game on tv this year and in person next year. eff the shady timing of this trade. nobody wants john scott suiting up on your team. except for a group of fans that voted him in to the zero interest mid-season game. smooth is worthless. smooth will earn a great trivia answer and live forever in nhl lore. i want to see some of the lennie's reactions.

wow, seems like Anaheim is getting the better end of the deal ability-wise but i haven't looked at the contracts yet.
that NYR-Ana Hagelin deal hasn't worked out for anyone. Clendening is well on his way to playing for every organization.

    Misfits going both ways.

i really thought Perron would do well in Pitt.
adding Hagelin makes me think that they're just adding in an older Sprong. not sure if Sprong is even still on their roster or not. 3 more years after this one for Hagelin at $4 per. Rutherford throwing a bandaid on the wound.

Pens trying anything, I thought hags found a home in NY, I guess they thought he was too inconsistent.

Perron will probably score 18 goals the next 30 games and then do his disappearing act only to resurface by making a stupid hit.

Not sure what Hagelin's problem was in ANA, probably a bad fit for the lines that aren't working for Bruce. Pit will really enjoy that beast of a contract if he can't stick in the top 6 effectively.

Clendening doing the Tim Erixon thing.
