why? i don't see hamonic whining about anything. he made a request, and until the media turned it into a circus, no one heard a word about it.

I was thinking the same thing. Lulz found the right way to express it. I do not sense this as a case of homesickness; something very personal is going on. Meanwhile, he appears to be very professional and a good teammate. I'm cutting him a lot of slack.

Hamonic is living the dream, yet is still asking for what... to play 41 games closer to home? Maybe he should retire. I know that he plays for the NYI, so he won't be raising a cup over his head anytime soon, but other than that, he's dealing with shit that a lot of us deal with on a day-to-day basis. For the next 6 months, I'll be home on weekends. That's a lot less than 41 home games. Suck it up, wealthy professional hockey player.

frank, here's my take. if hamonic leaked it to create leverage, than ya, he's whining.

but if he didn't, and my guess is it was someone else, then i have no issue with him at all. i think he's leading the isles in TOI. that doesn't strike me as someone who's being a dick. i try to reserve that for people who refuse to play for the team that drafted them, or pull a contract holdout.

 

i haven't nominated travis hamonic for the ilya kovalchuk award, umm not nyet.

what constitutes a top 4 D anyway? is it a player that plays w/ in the top 4 mins 5v5 for any given team or is it a Dman that has a certain ability level? I feel like its the latter and there are less than 50 total "top 4 Dmen" in the league.
