after you get this, i will gladly take one or both of the Swedish girlfriends/sisters/hotties of that one dude that got drafted in the 1st round. i forget his name, but the girl on the left had stiff nipples.

I think Beleskey is the guy to win physical battles and Hayes is supposed to be more of a scorer, but their sizes don't match.

Rinaldo doesn't really matter, it's just funny giving up that much for him and dissolving a roster slot since Claude is going to bench or scratch him as soon as he acts normal.

He probably didn't like Bruce dropping him up and down, or he hated playing with Kesler...I mean, who likes Kesler?
The extra year and tax difference adds up to 4.4-4.7 million. That's alot of guaranteed money for a guy that's been grinding out ice time. He got an extra year and some movement clauses ANA wasn't giving him.

I'm skeptical of picks until there's alot of volume, but that SJ pick might be quite the chip when all is said and done.

    Some other things about Beleskey.

He was a grinder until last year, his contract year as a UFA shockingly. Spent the summer with some specialist to work on his game. His only big scoring year was his last OHL season against smaller teenagers.

Of his 22 goals, 14 were in the first 30 games last year and most of those were in top 6 roles with Kesler, Getzlaf or the pp, sometimes because of injury. Only a handful came in bottom line duty. I think I already mentioned that he almost doubled his lifetime shooting % last year. 5 of his playoff goals were against CGY, and he was eventually bumped to bottom line duty against Chicago before getting shuffled again, where he had some success.

He's never stayed healthy a full season, although I think Claude's system will help in that regard and I expect him to crash less often.

Anyway, I'm not a fan of what he's going to look like over the next 3 seasons or so.

and Artem Anisimov has had fairly similar production while getting more ice time and just signed for almost a million dollars more per season.

Beleskey is going to have a shot at a top 6 role so his 14 in 30 isnt something that I'm upset about. 8 playoff goals regardless of who they were against is impressive, especially for a player fighting for minutes. I like this signing.

I think older Hayes is going to bomb in Boston. Suilly already thinks he's thumper because he's 6'6. Sully is going to be let down.

after sleeping on the Kessel trade I still have the same thought, lolololololololololololololololololololololololol.

Anisimov is a pretty set player in terms of what he'll do, if healthy, for the next few years. His role in Chicago is pretty clear. He's covering at 2C until Teravainen, or another young player takes the spot, and he'll be helping the Russian prospects. Eventually he's the 3C replacing what Vermette was doing. Not that Quenneville has typical uses for lines 2-4 anyway.

I can't wait to see how Claude uses Beleskey. If he tries to have him play a 2 way game for a full year...ruh roh.

JHayes might thrive if he's left to play offense without having to play in straight lines all the time. He's going to aggravate Sully as he peels off from hits Daze-style but he'll get his stats if he gets the minutes. JHayes has to be in a top 6 role or else he's bad.

regarding Anisimov don't you think thats an awful lot of money going to a 3rd line player? the signing won't kick in for another year so he's even more likely to be the 3C at that point.

should be interesting. this is why I'm waiting on making any kind of judgement on this deal but Im not upset about it because he'll most definitely get a good opportunity to earn minutes. if he's used in top 6 mins and special teams he becomes a steal.

i think Cload just walked away.

    lol, good comparable.

Phoenix Copley is from North Pole, Alaska so that's something.

  13. I think with the signing of Justin Williams and now Oshie going to the Caps, the Caps just became a huge threat for the Eastern Conference Title. I would make them my front runner.

ohshe is a one trick pony, sure he may win a few ot's, but he hides on the boards and was given a gold ring on the carousel. there was a reason he wasn't with tarasenko. if sobotka came back he would have been on the 5th line.

Give Rutherford a little more time and the Pens won't have 1 player to call up and no picks in the draft. He signed Semin to huge long term contract and and he had 7 goals last year.......Rutherford plays with the owners money and has no idea what the fuck he's doing. Only because it isn't his money. He also has no idea how to handle the cap. He's just an old fart and I can't wait until he's gone after this season. I think he has Dementia and Parkinsons also........Or you could say the only player in the "top 10 in goals scored the last 3 years" is Kessel. Crosby, Malkin and Ovie could have done it except for injuries. Either way, Rutherford depleting the farm system and #1 picks in the draft......Why would a team hire a GM from a losing team anyways? He's another Mike Milbury!

For being quiet in FA, TM sure has been busy. He has hired some AHL All Star type players for Rochester. Some could see time in BUF if there's injuries but mostly it's about having a winning farm team. (The only NHL player to grow up in Oklahoma, D Matt Donovan, is intriguing. He was with the NYI all season but was a healthy scratch a staggering 70 games. Sure, he had deficiencies, but there is a reason a team keeps him rather than sending him to Bridgeport. He could be a Garth gem that got away.)

Jack Eichel signed his ELC and will step in as 2C. Of course he projects as a 1C and it's nice that he will be "sheltered" his rookie campaign. I think the key to understanding all the fuss about him is to look at his hockey stick. It's long. (Hard to avoid the inevitable innuendo with this, but facts are facts.) It takes big balls to play with a long stick since it's harder to control, but Jack has been living for the NHL literally since he was 4. The stick indicates his puck handling skills and belies his supreme confidence. It also makes him deceptively "fast", (no, he's not as fast as McDavid), but he can get places quicker than players expect. I expect nice things from Jack this year.

Trading for Ryan O'Reilly is what allows Eich to go to 2C. He has signed an extension with the Sabres. The terms are not announced but the max. term is 7 years. (He wasn't on the roster before the trade deadline, preventing an 8 year deal.) I expect he'll get - starting the 2016-17 season - between $7.5-8MM per. That's a lot of money based on his stats., but he just entering his prime. It is possible that he could become a 65 point player. But that's not what they're paying him for (his potential). The Sabres hired him for his proven intangibles. He's a great locker room guy, he elevates the play of his teammates, and he dramatically improves Buffalo's fancy stats.

If Lehner comes close to justifying his trade cost, then the Sabres should finish around 80-85 points. I expect the team is content with that with an eye on the playoffs the next season. Still, the team has a lot of high prospects and 10 picks in next year's draft. If another opportunity arises to snag elite talent arises then TM will act decisively. There's also a chance that he makes an RFA tender or two. The team needs time to consolidate their new roster and acclimate to the new coach; waiting a year is probably in their long term best interest.

ROR's new contract is 7 yrs./$52.5MM; cap hit is $7.5MM. I am not certain, but I assume it kicks in after this season. He's a Sabre until he is 31; it is structured to be virtually buy-out proof since his salary is only $1MM/yr. with the rest being annual signing bonus that slide from $10MM to $5MM.

His older brother Cal signed too. COR is the ROR of the AHL having worn the C for AHL runner up Utica. Rochester, and the bottom of the blueline have been significantly bolstered with a few signings.

Memo to TM: sign UFA Drew Bagnall to a new contract. Drew is the veteran glue that all AHL teams need. In some respects I view Drew as the organizational MVP.
