Trades and Potential Trades

Still early, but if I'm a Bruins fan I'm putting myself in an I-love-me-vest for the rest of the weekend.
If they don't move Krecji, this is just spinning wheels. No point to burn so many prime age years of players like Krecji, Bergeron, Rask, and Marchand if they're just going dumpster diving for a year or two. This route takes at least 2 years to bounce back from unless they start moving players for actual roster players. 2nd round picks are for 5 years from now unless they're flipped.

 

the kings deserve to not win another game, ever. they already deserved it, but now it's just that much more emphatic.

Fair enough. I feel like it was a fair deal though. If you're happy with it, good. I think bigfat will be good in L.A.

It's not like they'll miss Jones much in L.A. They churn out goalies better than possibly any team in the league. I basically view it as a 1st for Lucic in L.A.'s case. And a 1st plus a legit backup for Boston. Might be a win-win...

I'd rather have Marner over Strome. Of all the top ten picks I have him as the one most likely to disappoint in the NHL. (I want to be quick to qualify this. I do not think any of the top ten are going to ever become close to bust status, so it's relative.) Marner is potentially a 2.0 of Patty Kane.

If you end up with Werenski rather than Hanifin then that's fine. BOS now drives this draft and can tell Maloney & Darcy FU if you choose. But regardless of exactly what picks they move up to and what players they select, I think their end-game is to call out two names in the top ten.

I cannot see them retaining all three of the G prospects, and they likely got Jones knowing they could flip him tonight.

Remember this: the player picked 44th this year would be a late first in a normal draft class.

Jones was a major asset. he probably would've brought back more than Lehner did. Lucic is a UFA after next year. Ive long said that I think he's terrible at hockey and his aggressive edge has been fading. Im ecstatic about that trade.

 

Yea That was a great trade for Boston. Great value. I'm not a fan of Lucic either. Jones is good and that pick should be as well.

BUF gave up #21 for Lehner. They got Legwand too, but TM is telling us that is because his uncle insisted on it. It was take Legwand or we have no deal. Jones is, IMO, better so, yeah, they got the equivalent of two mid-firsts for Sir Fat. (That I call the player more formally known as PoS.)

I like Martin Jones, but I don't think he gets the return Lehner would have.

The ROR trade looks like a big win for Murray if he pulls it off. Zadorov, Grigs,and number 31 rumored.

 

really? i think that they've been trending in opposite directions for a while now. Lehner's value hasn't been this low since he was drafted and Jones has only gotten stronger.

any chance ROR doesn't re-sign in Buffalo? we all know that he's a major alimentary canal when it comes to negotiations. i bet that ? will address that quickly.
