So how do "future considerations" normally work? Is it as vague as it sounds? Still curious to see what we got from St. Louis for Adam Cracknell from Feb. I know it won't be much but wasn't sure how future that meant and what it normally entails.

Future considerations are the equivalent of picking through somebody's dumpster. Cracknell was going to be lost on waivers most likely and had no trade value anymore.

If they have a nice clean dumpster they like or one with a hole in the bottom like COL, PHI, etc., they trade a conditional 6th or something like that.

If I were to guess, it would be non waiver exempt guys from the system on expiring contracts that would plug in somewhere in the bottom 8 contract slots out of 50.

    Burke is AWWWWWW SSSSSUUUUMMMMMMM

When has he ever screwed himself trading with Boston?

  7. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

Nothing like late 2nds to sweeten the pot.

    Bergeron was #45 overall.

looks like the b's have the picks ammo to get to #3 now

  9. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

If not, they will after they move St. Bigfat.

Boston just got alot more interesting.

So did Calgary and their step backwards next year.
Nice to see the arms race move out of the central.

I think everybody in the division except ANA, has something big cooking.

Who is going to beat that trade?

Sweeney odds at Bovada to be Ditch GM-of-the-year just went from 30/1 to 8/7.

This report with an air of confidence about it:
Holy F!ing S#!t!!! The hockey team from Boston is going to pull this off. They now own #14 & #15 and close to 25% of the entire second round. (The second round has all the value picks.) They're going to get #13 AND Jones?! They can now move up to possibly get Hanifin and Marner, (they definitely have the ammo to get both Marner and Werenski).

Sure this represents a rebuild, but with their cap situation and close to dysfunctional status in the org.; this is rebuilding on the fly. I'd be more giddy with this than Timmy Murray and a whole plate of 'shrooms.

Krejci- 63, Hollywood Bigfat- 50, and Marchand in the 3rd. Those were all from the pre- Chiarelli days though.

wtf w/ Dougie. they were that far apart? i guess Sweeney was in agreement w/ us and Dougie wanting Doughty cash.

great trade of Bigfat. got back more than i had expected. I'm happy that i wrote that i thought Martin Jones was the best goalie available the other day. an already crowded crease situation just filled up like a Chinese subway car. waiting for the other shoe to drop?..unless you're going Tuuka/Jones in Boston and Subban/Mcintyre in Providence.
waiting for the other shoe to drop. call us back Maloney!

lets finalize that Tim Thomas deal.

would much prefer Seabrook and would be willing to give up more pieces for him too.

let's see. i really want them to move up to a top 5 pick. just heard Krejci is in play which would mean that Strome could be if the Bruins are able to move up.

    this i like.

i like your objective optimism here Dan.
love the Bigfat trade. you all know that. i would've loved any Bigfat trade but the return pieces are extraordinary in that trade.
