Campbell, Clifford traded to Maple Leafs by Kings
Toronto acquires goalie, forward for Moore, two draft picks

Jack Campbell and Kyle Clifford were traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs by the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday for Trevor Moore, a third-round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft and a third-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft.

Campbell, a 28-year-old goalie, is 8-10-2 with a 2.85 goals-against average and .900 save percentage for Los Angeles this season as the backup to Jonathan Quick. Toronto goalie Frederik Andersen has a neck injury, and backup Michael Hutchinson is 4-9-1 after a 5-3 loss to the New York Rangers on Wednesday.

Before the trade was announced after the game, Toronto coach Sheldon Keefe was asked if Hutchinson would start against the Anaheim Ducks on Friday. The Maple Leafs also play at the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday.

"It's too early to tell," Keefe said. "There's a lot going on obviously with Fred and some other things too. We're just going to have to see how things settle down tomorrow and see where we're at."

And since the Panthers are about to start selling, looks like Mike Hoffman is going to net a first rounder in trade, based on that deal. Dale Tallon will use that pick to grab another winger, I'm sure...

 

I’d love to see Hoff in blue & gold. Not sure what it would take, but a first would have to be top-10 (or so) protected in 2020.

I’d rather explore a d-man not named Dahlin or Jokiharju.

 

The Panthers need to acquire a defender. If they're getting a quality top 4 defender in exchange for Hoffman, I'm all ears. Of course, Tallon won't do it - he would have to be competent.

 

Not sure if the Bruins would be a match and would have a Dman Florida wants but Id personally love to get Borgstrom.

 

Take him. At this point, anyone who can play top 4 reliable D would be a monumental upgrade. If that's what it takes, I'm all about it. Panthers getting embarrassed against Philly because, again, they have no ability to stop goals against.

 

Canucks get Tyler Toffoli (UFA)

Going to the Kings Tim Schaller(ufa), Tyler Madden, a 2nd and 4th rounder in 2020 conditional.

* Toffoli has to re-sign with the nucks to get 4th rounder

 

Toffoli will ask for $5M next season, good deal for the nucks.

 

Toffoli would’ve been a great Bruin. Slot him with Krejci and DeBrusk and Coyle becomes 3C.

 

The Bs could've used the F depth, the Canucks don't give up any important roster players, a few I hear were high on Madden.
