seems like you dont hear from him and then every 5 years or so a starting goalie goes down and Budaj goes on a run for that team. then he goes away again.

That’s what I was thinking and was gonna post it. The Buddha pops up about every 5 yrs or so.

He's a nice guy to have in case of injury since he has stepped into injury duty a few times and done well.
I still expect he'll Reign in Ontario and not count against the cap.

Budaj vs Jack Campbell for the backup spot.
Remember how good Campbell was a teen? specifically at the WJC

I think it's going to be a busy trading season. Some big trade chips fell tonight.

Montreal traded Galchenyuk to Arizona for Domi.

Trocheck is maybe my favorite player in the league.

I respect that statement. I am partial to Brock Boeser, but that might change once Elias Pettersson hits the ice.

Domi always wanted to play for the Leafs. And after getting drafted by the yotes, he hits Ottawa.

Domi better pick up his game in
Montreal or he'll soon be labeled a bust. 9 goals in 82 games is not what teams expected.

I hear peeps talk about Virtanen as a bust. Solid player, ruined by Torts. I think he is salvageable.

I'm not sure what Jakes ceiling is, he wasn't really lighting it up in utica before he came over. A 6th overall is expected to be at least a 20 goal scorer, at 21 still lots of time.

    How is Bergevin still employed?

Good question. Of all the GM's and teams possible, I would never have guessed Marc lasting this long. Canadiens going nowhere for quite some time now.

Habs are spinning their wheels, I wonder where Patch lands.

Reaction to the trade from Canadiens fans has been less than enthusiastic thus far, with Galchenyuk a popular player since the franchise selected him No. 3 overall in 2012. In 418 career games, he has 108 goals, 147 assists and a minus-34 (though much of that is thanks to his minus-31 last season).

Domi tied his career-low with nine goals and had 45 points in 82 games last season.

"I had a rough start last year, our whole team did and that was unfortunate," Domi said. "I took a lot of that, you take that upon yourself when you expect yourself to be a big part of that team and ultimately creating a winning culture there ... but we finished off great with the young core and started to play a lot better and you feel like yourself a little bit. It was huge for the confidence.

"And Montreal has an unbelievable hockey team right now, a combination of an unbelievable group of veteran leadership, some great young players and ultimately the best goalie in the League (Carey Price). So it's a great mix and I'm just going to try and slide in and do my part in helping this team win in any way it possibly can."

the young Domi's use of the word unbelievable is unbelievable.

I think he coyly used "unbelievable" as a double-negative.

you give more credit to the offspring of Tie Domi than I do Dan. the only double negative he knows is a -2 shift.
