But it always seem to be that he gets tougher shots on him and has to make some crazy saves. By chance Reimer isn't getting as many really tough ones on him.
Reimer's style is more still, where bernier moves around more, and it looks like he's working harder to stop the shots.
That is true, although I still think I've seen more that require alot more reaction even if he was staying more still. Not to say Reimer couldn't save those either.
Bernier's been part-time up until now, nobody knows exactly what he is, Reimer went 7 games with the B's.
Carolina beat them in 7 in 09(?), a bad Habs team went 7 w/ them in '11 and the Caps went 7 w/ them in '12. not to be a dick but i think that went 7 because the Bruins didn't play well. point being, imo Reimer is not an elite goalie. solid yes, elite no. maybe Bernier is.
The habs have price, and caps holtby, I'm just putting bernier and reimer side by side. Bernier's been Quicks gopher boy the last 5 years, never took on any big games, it doesn't mean he's not better than reimer, so far, reimer's been better, maybe not technically, but it works.
i would say Price is elite, Holtby is solid, Leighton and Boucher (beat Bruins in 7 in '10) are terrible, Ward (beat B's in 09) is solid/elite. I would also say that Crawford is an average goalie. Losing to the Bruins in 7 isn't really a great achievement for a goalie.
again, not trying to be a jerk but that series went 7 more because of the Bruins than the Leafs. They didn't even play that well when they were up 3-1 and then were horrible for the next 3 games minus that last 10 mins or so.
I'm not questioning the play of the bruins, I'm just saying the experience in important games goes to reimer, I'm not even sure if bernier's even played a playoff game.
Reimer had a couple of solid games, there's nothing else to go by on, the stats with bernier are identical, the only thing that seperates the two is that bernier was drafted much higher, but that could only take you so far.
those aren't meant to be read in sequence as much. thats not how it went in my head anyway. should say something like- ...and crawford is an average goalie. so my point is that losing to the Bs in 7, like reimer did, isn't necessarily a good thing.
whew. ok, i feel better now. was really worried i'd forgotten about that epic series where crawford lost to the br00nz in 7 *HELP*
