Carlyle successfully mindfukked Kadri. He spins at 1:00.

29 pts, only boston and pitt are above, not bad, looks like its not the same old leafs.

Its got to be fun and real encouraging to see them playing this well. They dont look like a fluke to me, they seem to be pretty solid. Good luck the rest of the way...except when they play the Wings, of course.

Hey thanks will, speaking of red wings, I wonder when that HBO series is starting.

  7. Willie Head Coach Manager News & Notes Vikings

Took me a bit to find it, but here you go. Sounds like I need to get HBO. The series looks like it should be pretty interesting.

I wonder how Holland And Smith will influence this team in the long haul.

Joe, they look like they'll provide injury depth, I doubt they'll ever be able to elevate their game to top #6 forward status.

Nonis is talking to Bolland about an extension already?
Why doesn't he wait to see how he comes back and holds up for the year? I think McClement is a better 3c anyway.

  13. skinny123 Guest

The time bolland was healthy was a good sample size, good enough for an extension, yes, but not sure how he'll come back, I guess nonis is jumping the gun here, let's see the way it plays out. McClement is better on the pk, but all round player , there's no comparison.

Bolland is the guy you sign after everybody else is locked up.

  15. skinny123 Guest

The only big salary left to lock up is phaneuf, there won't be a big difference to what he's already getting now.

  16. mattymcgee55 Legend Patriots Bruins

you'll need room for centers like Kadri, D like Gardiner and Franson and both goalies.

  17. skinny123 Guest

Kadri's signed next year , gardiner and franson are rfa's, I could handle losing a franson in order to get bolland signed.

  18. mattymcgee55 Legend Patriots Bruins

fair enough. still gotta plan ahead for Kadri and the goalies.

  19. skinny123 Guest

Yes, keep in mind the cap's going up to $70M.

  20. mattymcgee55 Legend Patriots Bruins

is $70 for sure? i haven't heard a specific number.

capgeek has the Leafs around $42 committed for '13/14. so that would leave $28 for the offseason. I'm interested in what you guys think they should do.

what would you do w/ the goalies? I mean its so early so you'll see how the season goes, but do you want 2 quality goalies and at what price? i guess thats a GM/coach system decision.

    G
Reimer (now at $1.8) RFA. you looking for a bridge here?
Bernier ($2.9) RFA up after next year.

    D
    Phaneuf ($6.5). how much?
    Franson (2) RFA
    Fraser (1.275)
Ranger (1)- he intrigues me, how has he been so far?
    Gardiner (875k) RFA

    F
    Bolland ($3.375)
    Kulemin (2.8)
    McClement (1.5)
    Raymond (1)

some pretty nice deals up front w/ the guys already signed. JVR at a very reasonable $4.25 signed thru'17/18 is one of the better deals in the whole league i think. Lupol $5.25 is pretty good as long as he's on the ice. Clarkson deal I don't like, Bozak Im ok w/ as long as he's getting top 6 mins and earning them. Kessel long term at $8 in my mind is too early to tell, i don't want to be negative about Phil. Will he become complacent or will he improve and be even better?

Gotta assume that you don't want to be right up against it w/ Bernier and Kadri up the next offseason.
