only a couple days at a time. i should've gotten the Mega Millions numbers from last week ahead of time, instead i just watched the second episode of 24/7.
starting ranger over liles has to be one of the biggest coaching brain farts of all-time, getting hard to watch.
Please end the Ranger experiment. It's only a good back to the big league story when he deserves to be there.
The only reason why he starts him is because he thinks he needs some size, but ranger doesn't play with grit, so what's the use? He could be taking advantage of that first pass that liles offers which ranger would never be able to do, its really looking bad, I can't believe they couldn't find anyone else.
I'm sure there was d that 's been active the last 4 years that could've been had for cheap, was kostka much worse, seems to be doing fine with the hawks.
Payback for bernier after that freak goal he gave up the last time they met at the ACC. Now the winter classic, good stuff.
http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/nhl...liles-to-hurricanes-for-tim-gleason-1.2481212 Liles for Gleason, I'd say this is a good deal, a player that wasn't being used, for a solid stay at home, I think the leafs just got better.
I watched Liles play when he was in CO, and I thought his capabilities often outpaced his output. I wanted to see him do well in Toronto. Perhaps the third time(team) is the charm for him. Did the Leafs have to give up a prospect in this deal, or was it a straight-up one-for-one?
I like the trade. The question is is the prospect we gave up going to be any good? 22 year-old defenceman in college. And what a win today!
I wouldn't worry about the prospect, he's a 6th round pick, currently playing at Brown, I've never heard of him, they have higher tier prospects playing with the marlies that aren't getting a shot here. I think its a good deal for both teams, liles is a better fit in the canes system and vice-versa, if gleason can get back to the way he was playing before his injury, this could be real big, especially when bolland comes back, I'd say the shots against will come down, and the leafs will be a harder team to play against. Gleason was on the olympic team in '10, and liles wasn't, from a quality stand point the leafs get better, even though you're comparing two different styles.
Once Carolina traded a very young and valuable Jack Johnson ( a year after picking him #3 overall) to LA for Gleason in '06 it really got my attention. Seems like just the kind of steady Dman that will eat minutes up that the Leafs need. Ironically Gleason replaced Komisarek in the 2010 Vancouver Olympics for USA and I think Komisarek is now in Carolina's system somewhere. the purge may have just started in Carolina. next up a Staal or Ward?
