Well it was a good season with a disappointing finish and now we have to go through the worst offseason we've had in years hoping our window hasn't closed.
They have the starters, all they need to do is sign EE and get another power hitter and improve on the pen.
Well there is some good news. Saunders might not be as costly as imagined at the break. Donaldson is getting paid as well since the Jays will not disrespect him by not doing so after passing on it last year. They need a bat yes. Saunders, Pillar and even a Upton/Carrera can hold the outfield but they would then need a bat to play 1st/DH.
It's not the money, it's the term, rogers won't want to sign either for five years, but they'll the redsox or yankees would.
It actually is money as well. They can't give both what they want while also paying Saunders and Donaldson.
wow - do they have some younger guys that can fill in? i would say replace, but replacing either isn't so easy. yeah it's hard when your top guys leave due to years they want and money. they have so much money, you think they would stay to be a part of a winning team and a so called "family." nah. greed is good. i hope the yankees or sox don't get either of them !
Rogers has as much or more money than any ownership in the league, it's not the money. The tribe has a payroll of $123M and going to the WS, yanks and red sox $210M. Why get stupid with 36, 37 year old players.
