Tate is way better than Switzer or Rogers and brings a lot more toughness than those two. A borderline Pro Bowl WR vs average receivers. Give me Tate over them any day.

 

Also a lot older. No thanks, and Switzer adds value as a returner. Wouldn't mind if guaranteed Tate would play at a high level for at least 2 years, could've been the new Hines Ward.

I still think they should go after one of the ILBs you guys mentioned in other threads.

True but I think he would have made their offense more potent than Switzer or Rogers. Plus that doesn’t mean I’m saying get rid of Switzer, he could still be the KR and fall back to the #4 or #5 WR on the roster. I liked Rogers a lot in his earlier years but he hasn’t shown much the season before his knee injury or last year coming off of it.

 

Honestly I wouldn't mind if Rogers is cut. He has flashes at times but disappears for games at a time. I feel Moncrief is the better fit for what the Steelers need at the moment.

 

The Saints are eying Finney as a center to replace Unger who retired. For a second round pick because of our tender to him. That would be a welcome surprise after getting fleeced on AB.

 

Highly doubt the Saints trade their 2nd for Finney. Especially since they don't have a 1st or a 3rd

 

Their probably going to spend that second on a center, maybe they will decide Finney is worth it.

 

I have a good feeling about this upcoming year. I expect us to have as good a year or better without AB. I am looking forward to picking up another receiver in the draft (hopefully with a good attitude) and another running back.

 

It's like the Browns are going backwards picking up malcontents like Beckham and the dude from KC.

Harrison came out in defense of Ben as a leader. Anything Harrison says is usually opposite of what seems real. So Ben must be a bad leader because Harrison is always full of crap.

 

At first blush, to me, Moncrief looks like Jericho Cotchery on steroids. Smooth route runner, fewer years in the nfl but more than enough to build help leadership ... I see him as an assassin. If he and Ben get karma in the offense together, he's strong enough, fast enough and plenty of nfl savvy and smarts enough to find the hole over Switzer/Rogers and in between deeper J2S2 and James ... in actuality he has multiple routes he can and already has run on many occasions over the last 5 years to bring to our table.

In know way do I hope for or expect Moncrief to compare to AB's numbers. I see this 2019 campaign as more of a receiver group effort. It could be Ben throwing darts. Bet they go receiver in one of first two rounds ... all their missing is one to tear the top off. Otherwise IMO, they have one of the best groups (most diversely talented) in the NFL.

 

Bradshaw even came out in support of Ben, maybe he finally got over the fact that Ben broke a majority of his passing records?

 

Ben, AB, Bell - all very reproachable.

I was happy to hear Benny boy is likely to cancel his radio show. Now if he would just stop lobbing balls to defenders in key (often redzone) situations that would be great.

 

That would be great. Since he's cancelling the show he can watch film instead.

Honestly, no AB or Bell and Ben keeping a low profile, this team could be more focused and thus a bit better.

 

AB and Bell did not ever win a super bowl. They are way too soft and all about themselves to stand much of a chance of accomplishing that.

Maybe those two should play tennis instead of football?
