Scott Sabourin of the Sens just had a scary injury. Didn’t look like much but he left in an ambulance and I’m not sure he’s moved since. Thoughts and prayers with him.

Update: Ottawa Senators forward Scott Sabourin was transported to local hospital by ambulance for evaluation. He was conscious and speaking with the attending doctors at the time of leaving the arena.

Thats really going to hurt, but the Leafs, in my opinion, have plenty of fire power. Its tough when players like him or Taveres go down.

Why did he try to keep going, that might have made it much worse.
Where was babs to tell him to give it a rest?

Sammy Blais will have surgery on his right wrist and be out at least 10 weeks, the St. Louis Blues announced Wednesday.

The forward, who has eight points (five goals, three assists) in 20 games this season, was injured in a 3-1 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday.

Selected by St. Louis in the sixth round (No. 176) of the 2014 NHL Draft, Blais has 15 points (eight goals, seven assists) in 63 regular-season games and three points (one goal, two assists) in 15 Stanley Cup Playoff games. He helped the Blues win the Stanley Cup for the first time in their 51-season history last season.

Also Wednesday, the Blues signed forward Troy Brouwer to a one-year, two-way contract worth $750,000.

The 34-year-old, who had 21 points (12 goals, nine assists) in 75 games with the Florida Panthers last season, played with the Blues in 2015-16, finishing with 39 points (18 goals, 21 assists) in 82 games.

Selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the seventh round (No. 214) of the 2004 NHL Draft, Brouwer has 362 points (181 goals, 181 assists) in 838 games with the Blackhawks, Washington Capitals, Calgary Flames, Blues and Panthers.

get back in the crease Mrazek. Hilarious that the announcer (Tripp Tracy?) says that there was no embellishment.

Jack Eichel’s 17-game point streak ended Thursday when the Sabres captain missed the game against the Philadelphia Flyers with an upper-body injury.

Eichel had 31 points (16 goals, 15 assists) during the longest point streak of the 2019-20 NHL season to date. Unfortunately, due to the injury, the 23-year-old will fall one game short of Gilbert Perreault’s franchise record of 18-games set in 1971.

“He’s playing against top lines of other teams all the time, trying to shut them down and win those games within the game and that means a lot to him right now,” Sabres coach Ralph Krueger told NHL.com. “His offense is breeding out of that and it’s coming without the same pressure as in the past because he feels good about a strong defensive game.”

Entering Thursday, Connor McDavid led the NHL in scoring with 59 points and Eichel sits in fifth with 50 points. The former Boston University standout is not the front-runner for the Hart Trophy at this point, but he has catapulted himself into the conversation.

They said his 17 game point streak ends, how is that possible if he didn't play?
