The Penguins acquired Kessel as a complimentary set-piece to Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby. Instead, he's now leading all Penguins in points as they head into the conference finals. Without his two goals to open Game 6, his team doesn't survive the three straight delay of game penalties late in the third period. He's been as vital as any player on any remaining playoff team.

 

...and the Maple leafs made a huge mistake in getting rid of him. Ive always been a Phil backer, appetite and all. He does nothing but score and for me thats the bottom line.

when its all said and done, I'm hoping the Leafs essentially get a 2nd rd pick and Kappanen for the Phil.

 

I would happily trade Pierre's raging erection for the Pens between the glass and Rutherford's name associated with greatness if Phil wins a Conn Smythe.

its amazing how the pendulum swings for teh Phil. he isn't as bad as people make him out to be when he isn't playing well and he isn't as good as people seem to think he is when they're riding his junk. the Pens are half way to a Cup, the easy half mind you, and the Conn Smythe is already being thrown out there? reminds me of Pens fans in 2013.

Matty, that is a rather balanced comment that can be applied to most players situations around the NHL. Things are rarely as good, or as bad, as they look at any given moment.

My concern is that your comment reveals an alcohol deficiency in your system. On the other hand, Frank's comments can be, IMO, read with an element of alcohol and/or drug induced flippancy and should not be taken too literally.

 

Leafs trading teh also gave them last place and the first overall.
