Does anyone else think that Baker Mayfield (especially in his impersonation of John Dorsey) looks like the late Boyd Coddington, previously of the TV series "American Hot Rod" ?
We had this whole age grouping discussion. Where you at man?!?!?! Depending where you look, I could be the oldest Millennial. There is actually a micro-generation called Xennials (80-84ish). Ones that grew with technology boom, but also are old enough to not have had it. I never understood the whole participation trophy knock on us. When I was 9, I wasn't running my baseball or soccer league, it was Boomers. They're the ones to blame for kids getting participation awards. I personally could give AF. When I was 13 we were in the city championship for little league and I threw a 3 hitter and lost. After the presentation ceremony I snapped my trophy over my knee because I didn't need something to congratulate me for losing. (also may have been a tad childish...I'll let you decide). Besides that, I just rolled the agometer to 36. My oldest is a sophomore in HS and going to start driving, My son is playing freshman football, My 12 yr old is ready to run the world, and my 10 yr old is going on 30.
So you aren't as far behind me as I thought... You are actually borderline GenX/Milennial, right? I'm 47, with 23 and 25 year old college graduate daughters, a Sophomore daughter who is also starting to drive (has her temp permit) and an 8th grade son in football. I don't know where I was when this conversation took place...honestly, I could have been there and forgotten about it already.
Im 61 soooo ..GET THE HELL OFF MY LAWN ! No HD are not to fucking loud ! If its to loud your to old ..Its the SWEET sound of pure American HP .
answer a quote with a quote: Someone had blamed something on Millennials and I kinda snapped and said it was just lazy to place the blame that way, then we went on to see who was where. It's still funny to see people blame the "participation award" generations, when the ones typically complaining are the ones handing out the trophies.
If I had a dollar for every time a Gen-X'er or Baby Boomer blamed something on Millennial, I could afford to buy a house in the economy they destroyed.
I too have a Sophomore daughter learning to drive on a temp permit, and a son in 8th grade...Never a dull moment.....I also have a stepdaughter getting ready to start her freshman year at Oregon....
Never really watched that show, Lyman, but I was impressed with his impersonation of Dorsey on Hard Knocks. Not on the Baker bandwagon yet, but have been pleased to see the maturity he's shown thus far. Hoping for that to continue. Rok
