When Metcalf busted the second half kickoff for the 90 yard TD, that place erupted....He was amazing. Talk about a dangerous runner. We might have been standing close actually. I was in the corner of the closed in, opposite the dawgpound, maybe 3 rows off the field. On the play just before Clay's pick, Jim Kelly hit Ronnie Harmon with a perfect pass in the end zone, that he dropped. I almost shit my pants. We caught a huge break on that play. It was right in front of us.
Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer confirms free agent Terrelle Pryor will be "on the Browns' radar" this offseason. Pryor had his best season with Cleveland in 2016, leading the Browns in both catches (77) and receiving yards (1,007). He didn't fare as well in Washington but was obviously hampered by injuries including an ankle issue that eventually required surgery. Pryor would add to a Cleveland receiving corps already featuring Josh Gordon and Corey Coleman.

With the Chiefs adding veteran cornerback David Amerson and, officially in three weeks, acquiring cornerback Kendall Fuller as part of the Alex Smith trade, some in league circles are wondering whether the Chiefs will be making another transaction involving a cornerback. The question being asked is whether Marcus Peters, a first-round pick in 2015, is available in trade. Peters has become one of the better cornerbacks in the NFL, but Peters has at times been a bit of a handful for the Chiefs. The situation came to a head last season, when he seemed to try to get himself ejected, then seemed to assume he was ejected when he wasn’t, then returned to the sidelines with his uniform on and socks off, showing no intent to return to action. The incident, along with an argument with a coach, got Peters suspended for a game. For the Chiefs, it quietly may have been the last straw. Subject to a fifth-year option, the Chiefs (or whoever holds his contractual rights) will have to decide by early May whether to extend the contract through 2019. As the new league year approaches, Peters has become a name to watch for a possible trade — especially with the guy who drafted him four years ago now the G.M. in Cleveland. just say NO to the head case kneeling dirt bag . not worth it !

hey guys I've been keeping up but keeping out of the fray. I've been wondering whats up with Joe Thomas. Is he holding out to find out where the FO goes with the QB spot, to decide if he's willing to put it all out there again? I just don't know what to think. Not that I'd blame him if he opted out, if we go "all rookie QBs" again. thoughts?
He said he would let them know for certain by free agency. My gut feeling is that he will play one more year.
So I finally landed a job as a Wal-Mart greeter, which is a good find for many retirees, unfortunately I lasted less than a day. About two hours into my first day on the job a very loud, unattractive, mean-acting woman walked into the store with her two kids, yelling obscenities at them all the way through the entrance. Per my greeter training manual I said pleasantly, “Good morning and welcome to Wal-Mart.” “Nice children you have there. Are they twins?” The ugly woman stopped yelling long enough to say, “Hell no, they ain’t twins. The oldest one is 9, and the other one is 7. Why the hell would you think they’re twins? Are you blind, or just stupid?” So I replied, “I’m neither blind nor stupid, madam. I just couldn’t believe someone slept with you twice. Have a good day and thank you for shopping at Wal-Mart.” My supervisor said I probably wasn’t cut out for this line of work.
I read the quote about Joe, but I thought I had recently heard he wasn't as firm on that answer. It may simply have been speculation, so I wondered if anyone else had seen anything about him stretching the time line.
He went from personally trying to recruit Kirk Cousins to play here a few weeks ago to now saying there's virtually 'no chance' he signs a deal in Cleveland. Either he knows something, or was told to button up with the social media overtures. While I'm sure he's not thrilled at the prospect of protecting for another rookie QB in 2018, he's got 13 million reasons to come back. He can hang it up after 2018 when *hopefully* he gets that elusive 50th career win. Let that sink in for a moment... Joe Thomas, a first-ballot HOF and one of the best ever at the position has 49 career wins through 11 seasons... 10 of those (20.4%) coming in his rookie campaign. Can see why it'd be pretty tempting to hang it up, 49-127 can't be fun...
Honestly, I think they had a little player player-to-player heart-to-heart talk after all of his tweeting, and he gently let Joe know that it's not going to be Cleveland that he comes to. As much as I personally would like to think Cleveland has something to offer, whether that's money or other assets, these players aren't going to be ready to jump into a franchise that has gone 1 and 31 over the last 2 years
**except maybe AJ McCarron, which right now if no other viable option is available, I would welcome him in as the veteran quarterback that we need.
Two things: 1) As long as it is a "team" friendly contract. I'm not signing him for more than 10-15 mill/yr with minimal guarantees. IMHO McCarron is only a Bridge QB and will be the SB caliber Franchise QB we so desperately need. I don't care what Hue thinks of this kid. He still can't beat out Dalton for the starting gig in Cin. 2) The caveat that Dorsey is still taking a QB at #1 an that McCarron is going to have to prove that he is/can be that guy. Otherwise there isn't a FA QB other than Brees that I would offer a $20-$30 mil /yr deal to with any gurantees. IF you could entice Brees with the draft capitol and cap space the I would be willing to back up the brinks truck and unload a $100Mil - 2-yr fully guaranteed contract to.
@crextin @IrishDawg42 I think you're both right about McCarron. The outrageous numbers thrown around immediately after seeing him become an unrestricted free agent were obscene - and not likely to be seen. He should come with a reasonable price tag. I would think Cleveland would be a desirable destination for him - he's not going to start in Washington (Gruden-connection) and there are few other places that could offer him the same guarantee of starting. We would still take a QB at #1, but we could hold off forcing him into the lineup early with a veteran like McCarron at the helm. The "who" would determine the length of time... but for the sake of argument, let's say it's Mayfield. As much as I love and think highly of him, Mayfield could learn a lot on the bench for a season (and would perhaps make the Browns less of a lightning rod) while he learned the playbook and just how to be an NFL QB in general. Of course, I still wholly support purging the current QB room. I see little to no value in keeping a broken Kessler and broken - and disgruntled - Kizer. I guess we can keep Hogan, but who needs option QBs in this day and age (not you, @Lyman)?
