I wouldn't argue that either, I am ignorant to that philosophy, but it certainly could be true...

But, this is what happened to the first team offense in pre-season

Week 1 = 1 drive, Andy Dalton interception
    Week 2 = 3 drives, 2 FGs, Dalton had a 53% comp percentage
Week 3 = 4 drives, Hill's TD on the first, then Dalton fumble, punt and final drive before the half, drove from 25 yard line to the 50 yard line to end the half.
    Week 4 = O drives

8 drives, 1 Hill TD and 2 Dalton turnovers, only 3 scores. I didn't see any evidence of attempting to extend drives, but I suppose that could be. Like I said, I don't understand the concept.

Browns fortunes are turning around. Just make sure Baltimore is #3. Thank you.

Just as long as Pittsburgh makes the post-season and Baltimore is out, you can have the division crown.

Back to the Texans discussion...living in Texan Land I have been rubbing in their face how bad the QB play has been, even worse, how bad Obrien has been. If you're yanking your QB after a half in the first game of the season then you have no idea where your team is at and you clearly don't know how good they are.

O'Brien is in over his head. He inherited a roster full of talent and is wasting it...

Not only that, GM Rick Smith has shipped all the premium picks in next year's draft to Cleveland...

The Bengals fired offensive coordinator Ken Zampese and announced quarterbacks coach Bill Lazor will take over coordinator duties, the team announced Friday. Lazor last coordinated the Miami Dolphins in 2014 and 2015. Before his stint in South Beach, Lazor worked under Chip Kelly in Philadelphia.

Can Lazor protect Dalton's blind side? I just don't think this solves the root of the problem.

    Gameday!'
Baltimore has been heavily praised for having a Big Time D, after destroying the Bungles. Well a week later that seems a lot less impressive.

If we are to believe the write ups, we will not be able to run the ball, Kizer will be sacked 15 times, and throw 3 INTs as well.

I'm not buying. Yes they will be better than the Pitt D, but I don't expect us to surrender, and I fully believe our D is better than Cincinati's, so....... IMO what we need is for Kizer to stop holding the ball, and throw it away, for our receivers to catch "in bounds", and our backs to be good enough to keep the dogs off Kizer, and to be a big part of the passing game.

I don't expect to see a high scoring game, so turnovers, and special teams could be deciding factors, which then IMO makes this game a toss up.

Sure, we have a rookie QB, who's generally more likely to make the mistakes, but Flacco isn't 100%, and if we can put him on the ground early, we may even the odds. And last I checked Antonio Brown is playing for Pitt, and Jeremy Maclam doesn't scare me, so lets hope we get some badly needed pressure on Flacco, and lets suit up.

    Go Browns

    Expanding on kenibals' post . . .

I'm not so certain that the Ravens' D is better than the Steelers. Both are pretty good but in different ways. Pitt may have a better pass rush but Baltimore's secondary is better and our WR's aren't ready to start making a difference. That said, I fully expect to see more of our rookie QB holding the ball too long and ending up on his keister again. We're simply going to have to be patient until the light goes on in Kizer's head.

Flipping the field . . . Batimore's WR's probably don't scare too many teams like AB does. But they're savvy enough to draw the long ball PI penalties that the Ravens do so well.

I would like to think we have the advantage in the running game but I simply don't know that based on only the Ravens / Bengals and the Bengals / Texans games. Both the Ravens and the Texans pretty much shut down the Bengals' rushing. Was that due to their run D or the Bengals O-line? I suspect a lot a teams will pretty much shut down the Bengals' running game.

Looking forward to seeing how this group of youngsters performs on the road. I too expect a low scoring game with maybe Zane Gonzales getting the game ball.
