  1. Ok you can believe that what other sports team do will have an impact....how did the Bears do after Chic won the WS? If the Cavs and Tribe lose, I guess the Browns will suffer then cause the city will be devastated....all Im saying is those teams won cause they had talent not the city being pumped up

Here's a big word for you to look up....

    Accumulation

The accumulation of talent can lead to a successful future.

    Last year was year #1

They got off to a slow start, but I am hopeful they now have their bearings and the evaluation stage is over. They are now in build mode, rather than rebuild mode.

They came in with Joe Thomas...but that's only one piece

They have Isaiah Crowell...but that's only one piece

They made a major move bringing in Jamie Collins...but that is only one piece.

They made a wise choice(so it seems) in Emmanuel Ogbah...but that's only one piece.

Personally, I think they played it smart and picked Cody Kessler...but that's only one piece...

They need to accumulate pieces to complete a team...

So far this off season, they have picked up arguably one of the best guards in the league in Kevin Zeitler...that's another piece

    Myles Garrett, #generationalplayer...another piece

#12 pick overall, we all hope that's another piece

We also are hoping that some older pieces get healthy(Joe Haden) and/or make a major step(Corey Coleman) in 2017

Can you see where I'm going here?

Last year the Browns had 3 picks in the top 65, this year they have 5 picks in the top 65, so there is opportunity to add more pieces and more importantly, they've had a full year of both evaluation of their current roster and that of the college talent entering the draft. The analytics machine(if this is going to work), should be much more efficient this year.

You can be as negative as we have grown used to you being...

What I am saying is with more pieces and the great vibe in the city of Cleveland, the Browns can make strives...I'm not ordering Super Bowl tickets for cripes sake...I'm just feeling positive that we can move in the right direction and start winning football games...

  5. Great and those picks are happening whether they have the Cavs or Tribe playing here..not arguing that fact...I was stating what the Cavs, Tribe or Cubs do has no bearing on their cities football team...I guess the Celts will win it all this yr...don't show up Cavs

Do you even contribute as a coach at your school? You can't tell me you've been around sports your entire life and don't know what the energy in an environment can do for everyone in that community.

The Cavs and Indians have energized this city, that includes the Tribe players going to watch the Cavs and vice versa...I know the Browns players are enjoying watching both teams and are anxious to make some of their own energy at First Energy Stadium...

    lol!

Is that Jobu? He's bringin the early mojo this year!

  9. Oh I definitely contribute....my boy(Shelton Gibson) will be drafted this yr, next yr Dorian Baker will be drafted after a hammy set him back his Jr yr and Justin Layne was playing both ways a Frosh at Mich St....mostly defense cause the playbook was easier to learn...btw Ive been around sports my whole life and I will say it again, the buzz around the city doesnt mean anything if there isnt talent on a certain team

The Cleveland Browns traded for Brock Osweiler last month, but it?s safe to say they still don?t have their long-term answer at quarterback. With the franchise holding the No. 1 pick, Cleveland could address its long-running void at the position to kick off this month?s draft but likely will wait and use one of its other 11 selections on a quarterback.
None of this year?s quarterback prospects appears to be worthy of the top selection, anyway. But the Browns might have new motivation to selection someone other than a QB with the No. 1 pick.
Former Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett, who many believe will be first off the board, told ESPN the Magazine why Cleveland should make him the No. 1 overall pick while also adding that he would ?punish? the Browns for the next decade and ?knock? their quarterback out every time they play if Cleveland opts to go in a different direction.
?Because I?ll be a difference-maker from day one. And I?m not gonna be in any trouble. I?m just gonna make plays and bring a good atmosphere to your organization,? Garrett said. ?And I?m gonna start winning and winning now. And because if you don?t draft me No. 1, I will punish your team for the next 10 to 12 years. I?ll knock your QB out of the game every time we play you, and I?ll have to kick the hell out of No. 1, whoever it is.?
The Browns, who also own the 12th overall pick, might want to heed his warning, especially after the team had numerous issues keeping its quarterbacks healthy in 2016.

The third and most meaningful?contest will be between the 24th and 27th against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, followed by the yearly pre-season climax game against the Chicago Bears either on August 31 or September 1. Will it be another Browns/Bears pre-season finale classic? *Yawn* You'll have to travel to Chicago to find out.

If the Browns make the .000000000000001% chance that they don't pick Garrett a reality, he's immediately scooped up by the 49ers who would otherwise settle on Solomon Thomas. In that case I wouldn't be too concerned about Garrett's threats, especially since 49ers linebackers retire young.

Running back Isaiah Crowell rushed for nearly 1,000 yards in 2016, despite a dilapidated offensive line and a revolving door of inadequacy at quarterback that?allowed teams to focus on stopping him. Crowell averaged 4.8 yards per carry, good for ninth in the NFL, and scored seven touchdowns?in his third season.
The Browns have offered the second-round tender on Crowell, which would pay him $2.75 million in 2017. He would then be an unrestricted free agent after the season.
The two sides have until Friday to work out a different deal, one that?would keep the 24-year-old in Cleveland for more than just the upcoming season.
Reports of the Browns showing interest in drafting a running back early in the RB-rich draft could be an indication the team is willing to let Crowell hit free agency after another season. It could also be a negotiating ploy as the team tries to leverage Crowell, though Cleveland does not lack for salary cap room.

Kessler not taking anything for granted

    Fred Greetham
    5:37 PM

Cody Kessler said he's not taking anything for granted as far as having the inside track to be the Browns starting quarterback.
BEREA,Ohio--Cody Kessler is just starting his second NFL season, but he's been around long enough to not take anything for granted.
Kessler was asked if he thinks he's the Browns starting quarterback as it stands right now.
?That is not my decision," Kessler said on the second day of OTAs in Berea. "What is up to me is how hard I compete and prepare in obviously this offseason, coming back and ready to go and getting back with these guys and working out with them. My mindset right now is just go out there and compete and control what I can control, and that is how I work out and watch film and every little detail that there is to playing quarterback in this league.
"That is something for me that is really important to me and being very competitive, and at the same time, learning from the other guys in the quarterback room and obviously, (quarterbacks) Coach (David) Lee and Coach (Hue) Jackson.?
Currently, Kessler, Kevin Hogan and Brock Osweiler are the only quarterbacks on the roster.
One of the biggest knocks on Kessler in his rookie season was being able to throw the ball down field. He said he's focused on that in the off-season.
?Absolutely," he said. "I definitely spent countless hours in the weight room and out on the field and really, really emphasized pushing the ball down field and different things with my mechanics. Obviously, it has to transition when the bullets start flying, but it?s helped me out a ton and that?s something I really worked on and had a big emphasis on.
"I continue to work on the short and intermediate game and being comfortable in the pocket moving around, as well as stepping into the throw and getting my back foot under me so you can push the ball down the field more and getting everything you have into the throw, instead of falling off," he said. "(Spent) countless hours of drills and different mechanical stuff I spent in in this off-season that I felt has helped me improve in that area.?
Kessler is confident he will be much improved in his second season.
?Watching myself (on tape) and other things, being the first year, there were things I was a little hesitant on," he said. "Normally, you want to pull the trigger a little faster and get rid of the ball a little faster, but being the first year I was a little hesitant on it. In no way is that an excuse, but that?s something I saw and said ?That?s O.K. you got that out of your system. You learned last year what you can do, can?t do and what you have to work on.? I just watched myself and worked on that this off season and just trusting the guys, getting the ball out on time, helping the offensive line out , eliminating some of those sack opportunities.
"Instead of taking three or four hitches, getting rid of the ball on the first or second hitch," he said. "Find your check down or run and throw the ball away, instead of holding on to the football and causing problems for yourself and your team that?s something that I?m really hard on myself and being critical? in different situations and situational football. Watching film of last year there were plenty of notes and goals I wrote down on things I wanted to work on.?
Kessler knows the Browns are likely going to draft a quarterback high in this year's draft but he wants to prove that he can be the long-term answer if he gets the opportunity.
"Yeah, absolutely," he said. "That's the mindset that you want to take. That's something that having so much criticism on myself and watching that is things that I didn't do well last year and things that I did well, things that I want to improve, is watching other quarterbacks in the league, saying 'ok, I can do that, let me take this from this guy', or little things here and there and maybe not do it as well as them or maybe everyone's a little different obviously and everyone has a different playing style and different game style.
"But you take bits and pieces and you put into your own game and just studying guys on film," he said. "I watched hours of Drew Brees and Tom Brady and (Aaron) Rodgers, just different guys that have played in the league for a long time and done a great job and picking stuff from them here and there, whether it's pre-snap or things they do at the line of scrimmage or just little hand motions, different cadences, the way they throw the ball. But, yeah, that's my goal. That's the mindset I've taken. I want to be successful in this league. I want to play for a long time, and that's the mindset you have to take each day, and that's what drives you and motivates you."
