NE just signed Gilmore...probably means the end for Logan Ryan...he's won SB rings already so mayb he wants a big pay day...is he worth it?
I agree that seems like a good fit with D Jax..Bucs are getting close.....I'm rep'n Tampa in a mock right now, before that move was made, I had selected John Ross for that same reason. Winston needs a burner. Cook wasn't available... got selected a couple picks in front of Tampa....Indy I think.
Can u imagine Ross in the slot and eventually taking over when D Jack contract runs out..wow that's interesting
Browns signed LG Joel Bitonio to a five-year, $51 million extension through 2022. The deal includes $23 million guaranteed. It's a whopper in the context of Bitonio's injury woes the past two seasons ? he's currently recovering from Lisfranc surgery ? but Bitonio has been one of the league's best young guards when on the field. The rebuilding Browns are trying to assemble a bully up front. Bitonio turns 26 in October. Sidelined since last October, Bitonio is expected to be ready for Week 1. Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter
Browns agreed to terms with C J.C. Tretter, formerly of the Packers. The Browns are working to improve their interior line after it got caved in last season. A reserve-turned-starter in Green Bay, Tretter was having a strong 2016 before spraining his MCL. He underwent surgery in January. His addition allows the Browns to move Cameron Erving off the pivot, where he was not a fit. Related: Packers Source: Mike Garafolo on Twitter
Your 2018 Cleveland Browns LT Joe Thomas LG Joel Bitonio C J.C. Tretter RG Kevin Zeitler RT Who the F cares...do everything up the middle or to the left and the RT will be ranked the best in the league.
Why 2018 and not 2017? Either way, this o-line does look pretty good on paper. Might rival Oakland and Denver. I didn't hear about Tretter until I got to this page. Thought he was still deciding.
So the Browns just got Osweiler AND a 2nd round pick for .... NOTHING!!!! Ha, ha, ha, ha ... I won't criticize anything these guys do for at least a year! That's outstanding!
It's not very big compared to the rest of the league and the Browns have plenty of cash. His salary is guaranteed this year (16M) but they aren't on the hook for anything else. Next two seasons: 18M 13M
I think they will hope that with Hue's help he will get there but it shouldn't signify anything more than a chance. They need to spend to a certain level to hit the salary floor. It's an expensive one-year tryout but if they don't spend it they'll just have to give it away eventually anyway. Solid move for the Browns.
The Browns are actually over the cap floor beach, this wasn't in a reaction to that, but rather the fact they had so much carry over, they simply...could They get a 2018 2nd and 6th, Osweiler...Texans get a 2017 4th and money off their books.
NFL Channel reporting Browns might not even be interested in Osweiler. They just wanted the pick, and they are already shopping Brock... So who saw this one coming? lol!
