He's not a problem for the Cleveland Browns anymore, unless they allow it....I'll be surprised if he's welcomed back into Berea. Hue seemed fairly adamant that the organization was "moving on" from Josh Gordon..... I'm tired of talking about him already...
Sashi Brown was just on NFL network.....He says the Browns are trying to get a deal done with Terrelle Pryor, but it's likely he's going to hit the market. The good news is, he assured everyone that the Browns aren't going to panic....smh... wtf??? He also said the Browns would consider trading the #1 overall pick, for the right deal... So maybe I'm jumping to conclusions here, but it sounds to me like we're about to lose Terrelle Pryor...That's just sickening.... Every phuquin year we hear about how much money the Browns have and what great shape they are in....and every year our best players go out the door...WTH??? Why can't they get this done? Oh well...We did get that long snapper and punter situation squared away...smh. I don't blame Garrett and Watson for begging Dallas to save them from winding up here....
Why do I get the feeling that this is how much our owner truly cares about the misery of Browns fans?
Well, TD . . . Joe Banner is with him so that puts it early in his ownership and . . . The Browns we're leading with only 2:19 remaining. Lighten up.
From Cleveland.com INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Browns Executive Vice President Sashi Brown drew a line in the sand on Wednesday, saying that Terrelle Pryor "is a priority'' but "we won't panic if he's not on our roster.'' He confirmed he has meetings set up with Pryor's agent, Drew Rosenhaus. A source told cleveland.com those meetings will take place here at the Combine. Brown is not expected to franchise Pryor by 4 p.m. today and "we understand that means he's effectively a free agent.''He said he's realistic about what happens at the Combine and that teams will start to let Rosenhaus know they're interested. They're allowed to make preliminary offers March 7, but 'legal tampering' always takes place before that. Multiple teams are expected to be interested. Brown said the club "values'' Pryor and appreciates that he wants to be back in Cleveland. He also said there are other ways to address the receiver position, including in the draft. The franchise tag would pay Pryor about $15.8 million for 2017. Instead the Browns plan to sign Pryor to a multi-year contract, and he told cleveland.com last month he still wants to be back in Cleveland despite the 1-15 record last year. "I have no problem with, just because we were 1-15 or whatever this year, coming back,'' he said. "I don't mind starting fresh next year and continuing to grow, because I think it's more exciting when you're on the bottom. I'm always citing starting from the bottom and getting to the top, and I think it's a greater feeling and it would be great to give Cleveland what they're looking for.'' If the two sides can't reach an agreement, other teams can begin permissibly floating preliminary numbers to Rosenhaus on March 7th, which would set his market price. Free agency officially opens March 9th. Spotrac.com estimates Pryor's market value at about $8.9 million a year, but other estimates have him making about $12 million to $13 million a year, especially since free agent wideouts are scarce this year. Pryor, who eclipsed 1,000 yards in the season finale against his hometown Steelers, told the Rosenhaus brothers that this is where he wants to be. "It's really up to them,'' he said. "It's really in God's hands.''
No he didn't, I did.. My point is a receiver of his caliber is going for around $15M. His tag value would be about $2.8M, so I'm not counting on him for 16 games, but if u get 4 games out of him, it's still a deal money wise. When he's on the field does he give you a better chance to win? At no point has he been a locker room issue. Two years running Bitonio has ended season with injuries, does that make him a locker room issue since you can't count on him for 16 games?
No...I wouldn't In fact, I wouldn't go over $11M a year. Some are saying he may end up at $13M per...well there is a point where you have to say enough is enough...
What does this mean? Would you pay $15M for Pryor? We must look past the fact the Browns have $100M in cap space, that is a one year wonder if you actually use it all..That includes $50M in cap carryover. So you actually have $50M and an extra $50M to get creative with. Conventional contracts will carry into 4-5 years at which time you won't have that extra carryover amount.
I agree and this is where I take issue.... A front loaded contract gets the players attention...however, we all know what happens when a player gets paid early, then they feel they are playing over their value in the lower valued years. The average is forgotten all of a sudden and they want new money. However, in our current situation(a 1-15 franchise) you use the tools you are given to improve. That means spending some of that $50M carry over in front loaded contracts just to get some of these guys to sign. I don't know Lym, they operate as if they are just any other franchise making a run at the playoffs. They need to adjust that attitude for a couple of years to make the team more inviting to free agents.
As in Ohio U? I don't necessarily, I'm a Kent State Golden Flash...so we play them in the MAC, but I don't follow closely.
I've been digging in on the tape this week and Javon Hagan caught my attention. I was hoping that somebody caught them live a couple times this season. Was looking for an opinion or two.
I spent a VERY brief time at OU so when I see they are on TV, I tend to watch them. Hope you have a long attention span, he's only a Freshman. He's a Florida kid (Jacksonville ?). Played safety if I recall but didn'the stand out in the games I saw.
The MAC freshman of the year as voted by coaches and media... I'm not familiar with him either. Seems like a good player from what I've read. Good hitter that causes a lot of fumbles....2 star recruit from Jacksonville, Fla.
