Terrelle Pryor - WR - Browns A source told the Cleveland Plain Dealer that free agent Terrelle Pryor has "instructed" his representation that he "wants to stay in Cleveland." Pryor is repped by Rosenhaus Sports. The Rosenhauses are expected to meet with Browns officials this week to begin contract negotiations, which should heat up in earnest at the NFL Combine (February 28 to March 6). Pryor is a top-three free agent wide receiver along with Alshon Jeffery and DeSean Jackson. His intentions on staying with the Browns suggest Pryor may be open to a small hometown discount. Pryor should be able to command $10-11 million per year. Source: Cleveland Plain Dealer
Browns hired David Lee as QBs coach. The 63-year-old has been everywhere and anywhere, as he's been coaching QBs since 1975. Lee was the QBs coach for the Bills under coach Rex Ryan the previous two seasons. It's notable that the Browns are bringing in Lee now. Cleveland has been linked to Tyrod Taylor in recent weeks.
David Lee is also the one credited with the development of Tony Romo....Oddly enough, Romo is the only (expected to be released) QB over the last 15 years that has not been immediately linked to rumors that the Cleveland Browns are interested....Maybe bringing in Lee as QB coach will spur things along... As far as Tyrod Taylor goes, I think I'd rather have him than RG3 if given the option, but I would still want them to draft a QB as well...If we rolled into 2017 with Kessler, Taylor and Mahomes in the fold, I'd be excited to see who emerged from that...
The Cleveland Browns have re-signed LS Charley Hughlett. ?I am super excited,? said Hughlett. ?I couldn?t be happier to be here. My wife and I are happy to call Cleveland our home. I can?t wait to start getting things turned around.? Hughlett is 6-4, 248 pounds and entering his third NFL season out of Central Florida. Originally signed by Dallas as an undrafted free agent in 2012, Hughlett joined the Browns? practice squad during the 2014 season and was signed to the active roster on Dec. 24. He has handled all long-snapping duties for the team the past 32 games. He added five special-teams tackles in 2016 and has nine in his career.

Two picks in the first round is a beautiful thing. We need to find success like the first round we had in 1978, when we had the 12th and the 23rd picks;
Browns released WR Andrew Hawkins. This was fully expected after Hawkins again played a minor role in Cleveland's offense, amassing 33 catches for 324 yards and three scores. Signed to a four-year deal in 2014, Hawkins had a solid first season with the Browns with a 63-825-2 line on 101 targets. But Hawkins saw just 90 total targets over the past two years. A slot man only at 5'7/180, Hawkins turns 31 in March.
This should have happened last August...I think many us felt they were making a mistake letting Taylor Gabriel go in favor of Hawkins. Another example of a new coach being blind because he wants "his" guy...Shanny knew Gabriel was better, but Hue had ties to Hawkins from Cincy, and that's that...smh. This one was rather minor, but it's the kind of thing that Joe Thomas was talking about. When you have no stability at the top, the roster will always suffer the consequences...
This is what Josh Gordon's business manager Michael Johnson said about client and decision to apply for reinstatement: "Josh is living with me and is in the best place mentally that he has been in dating back years before entering the NFL. He has taken the proper steps to treat his issues and has followed a very strict protocol that the league and our team here has laid out for him. He's also in the best shape of his life and feels even better than he did when he had his breakout year in 2013. This will be a special year for Josh and we are all very proud of the way he has taken the necessary steps to turn his life around."
So, do the Browns cut him as soon as he is re-instated? The statement said that he "and has followed a very strict protocol that the league and our team here has laid out for him." So the league and the team laid out guidelines...but I think that might have been prior to him going back into rehab. What caused him to go back into rehab, etc...was there something that the league was about to do that would have kept him under suspension? The league gave him stipulations that he would be re-instated after 4 games...he went into rehab before that could happen. So now, we don't know if he is ready to be re-instated or what..
I read "our team" referred to his entourage of legal, health, physical conditioning and professional advisors. Not the Cleveland Browns.
Well regardless... What would you do? He will be very cheap to keep around for one year, let him earn his big paycheck from some other sucker. He has never been a problem in the locker room, so I don't see any reason to just cut him. Now, that said, I would stay on course as if he weren't here....meaning, I still sign Terrelle Pryor and draft someone in April.
He is a problem in the locker room...as a teammate do you trust him? You gonna count on him all year?
