So now that Joe Thomas opened his mouth in a negative way, how many of you see that as frustration or WANTING THE HELL OUT? He just ripped Haslams "MONEYBALL" guys. As he should. ESPN, YAHOO and every sports radio show I listened to today just ragged on the Browns. Factory of Sadness was mentioned a lot. You know what really pisses me off! Haslam will make millions of dollars off this garbage. Even those empty seats were already paid for. I gotta find something else to do this long Thanksgiving holiday weekend......................................................................... I got it! HANG ON SLOPPY,SLOOPY HANG ON!!!! O-H-I-O!! Yes football lovers its the time of year for the REAL FOOTBALL RIVALRY! That's right folks. This weekend is the 2nd installment of "THE 10 YEAR WAR" Thats right! OSU/MICHIGAN with Big10 championship and the ticket to the 4 team dance on the line. Buckeyes are 7.5 point favors. Harbough has to come to the "SHOE" baby! OH......... THE WHOLE DAMN COUNTRY KNOWS THE REST! Hang on sloopy, sloopy hang on! O-H-I-O!
Wow watching tonights news the sports media is basically on their knees with their months open for this team. The media is part of the problem here. Why don't they call out Haslam? The Bean Counters? For this embarrassment they call a pro football team.
Once upon a time, there was a season when neither Ohio State nor Michigan made a post-season bowl game. It seemed so unusual that the teams figured there should be some sort of competition anyway. So they got together and decided on a week-long ice-fishing competition. On the first day, Ohio State caught 100 fish and Michigan caught none. On the second day, Ohio State had caught 200 fish and Michigan still had zero. The Michigan coach, suspecting cheating, dressed one of his players in scarlet and gray and sent him to the Ohio State camp to act as a spy. At the end of the day, the player came back to the report. "Are they cheating?" asked the coach. "They sure are," the player said. "They're cutting holes in the ice!"
Q. Did you hear the University of Michigan is going to bring back artificial turf in their football stadium? A. They're tired of the cheerleaders eating all the grass.
Okay. I have to give the FO a bit of a pass on Mack. He was as good as gone this year the second he signed that offer sheet from Jacksonville. Mitchell Schwartz on the other hand . . . he could have and should have been a Brown this year. Cam Erving belongs to Ray Farmer. Hopefully his dead money becomes tolerable before he infects the rest of the team. Grecco is probably the MVP of the O-line. IMO . . . they need a RT that can move to LT when Joe hangs 'em up -and- a Grecco clone to replace Cam and back up Bitonio. Until they solidify the Online, it's futile to keep drafting QB's.
OK Hue, the wheels are starting to come off now, can you rise to the occasion? The single most loyal, long tenured Brown is speaking up like he never has before, and the guy you helped personally resurrect his career is criticizing your coaching for allowing guys to finish games in the hospital. This is the test, I've been talking about all year. What will you do? Can you get the team to keep playing, or will you join the chorus, and start making comments about the content of players, and or the role of mgt in creating this mess. Or will you continue to accept responsibility, and show how you expect others to keep it together. Will that help? I don't know the answer, but I want Hue back, not for anything he's done as a coach so far, but for the continuity it demonstrates. To do that he has to soldier through with his head held high, seeking only to make this a stronger team. The guys who go through it, will return as better team mates, and committment to the Browns going forward, and that can be the only realistic goal going forward. I hate to say it, but a victory is not at the top of the list of things important to the Browns as a team right now.
If the Browns stay at first overall, they won't be able to address o-line with their first pick. To be honest, if they want value there, they'd have to go defense. Depending on who you ask, either Jonathan Allen or Myles Garrett is the best player in the country, with Jabrill Peppers and Malik McDowell also in the discussion (though I wouldn't pick McDowell first overall now unless he shows no ill effects from his recent leg injury at all). Whoever evaluated Mitch Trubisky was dead-on, and I don't think he'd be a good pick for Cleveland, at least not first overall. Instead, the Browns would have to look at the pick they get from the Eagles in the first round if they want to solidify the o-line without reaching. If the draft were tomorrow, the Browns would have the 1st and 14th overall picks. They have an outside shot at catching a falling Cam Robinson at 14th, or they could also see if Ryan Ramczyk would be a good pickup. Ramczyk is rising up boards, and if the Browns want an immediate right tackle, this kid will probably be the best in this upcoming class at delivering that. Dan Feeney is the best of a weak guard class, but I don't know if the value would be there to consider him at 14th. The 14th overall pick is a touchy one, too, because if either Mitch Trubisky or DeShaun Watson is available, the Browns might seriously consider him. While I'm a big proponent of drafting for value and hate when teams just take a QB out of desperation without some semblance of a team in place to support him, if it comes down to one of those players, Watson may be the better choice for his mobility. Having said that, if I were the Browns' GM, I would never draft any player, especially with a first-round pick, based solely on the idea that he's better than the other guy based on one attribute. In the 2nd round, the Browns have a few o-line prospects they could choose from. Roderick Johnson at tackle, Dorian Johnson at guard, and either Ethan Pocic or Tyler Orlosky at center. Also worth considering at 33rd overall would be DeShone Kizer. Formerly considered a first-round pick for being the best passing QB in this class, Notre Dame's lack of success on the football field in 2016 (leading to questions of leadership) and the fact that he's been battered this season have caused his stock to fall. For me, the best thing the Browns could do to foster a new QB would be to pick a tackle at 14th, Kizer at 33rd, and an interior lineman at 45th (where the Titans would be). But, this is just from an outsider's perspective.
Your views are always welcome here. Going defense with #1 doesn't bother me in the least. Its not like our defense is rock solid to begin with. (Even as a tOSU fan, I'll admit I have Peppers envy.)
rough times at the dog pound...$6 tix! http://ftw.usatoday.com/2016/11/cleveland-browns-buy-ticket-prices-stubhub/amp

What? We're out of the playoff race.....? Thanks for bringing in that article Bluez. It's nice to hear a perspective that isn't just more piling on, about how the Browns have been, are and will always be a shitty team. Given the direction the FO decided to take, "start over for real", our record was bound to be horrific, and steady play wasn't to be expected. With all of that, I still believe that had Botonio, and Bryant been in the mix, we'd have seen something much more encouraging from this roster. The loss of two very good linemen by choice, due to the FO's strategy, was going to make things difficult, but losing 60% of the line doomed the O, and any QB who had the balls to take snaps behind it. It, no doubt also stalling the development of the new guys, who subsequently shuffled in and out, and left and right in a weekly (weakly) attempt to hold the fort. With Bryant out the D lacked one of the cornerstone pieces too, with the same result, exposing all the newbies, and adding pressure to any vets to do more. Bring back those two components, and keep Collins, then we have something to build around, and let's hope they can hit on better than half the draft picks, and let's go play. Kessler isn't going to have anyone salivating over the prospects of dominance, but he did keep his head (a remarkable feat with all the headhunting he experienced) and doesn't flinch. His arm is unremarkable, but accurate, as advertised, but he hasn't learned to get rid of the ball quickly enough. I gotta believe some of that is being a rookie, but also part is the fact that the pressure to make any play is so great because of the lack of success this team has had. I think he has to feel like he's got to be perfect, and takes too long as he tries to make plays when the one drawn up doesn't immediately materialize. I guess I feel like I could live with Kessler, if this draft doesn't hold the promise of a top tier QB prospect, especially while so many other parts are, to put it kindly, "questionable". The more pressing issue at QB is the mix of guys who are behind the starter, and can any of them ensure a season of steady play once the O line is upgraded to better than mediocrity. Pryor is perhaps our only weapon, and must be signed, along with Collins on D. Do that and let's hope Coleman comes back next year healthy and ready to be the WR we hoped he'd be, then we should not be so hard pressed to score some points. We put a lot of rookies out there this season, and I'm hopeful that a number of them show Shelton like improvement in year two. Some will, some won't, but some will, is a big step up, and with another draft haul we can only expect better things. This season is an absolute bust in most ways, but will it also be the springboard for success just ahead? I expect us to be worlds better next year. What else can I hope for? For the remainder of the season, I am looking for the team to show unity, and determination to play better each game. Not much of a stretch from the last few games, to be sure, but it is more about their attitude and belief in one another and their coaching staff. Now is when we can evaluate the coaches. With the angry mob at the doors, attendance down, and the natural tendency to find fault at full throttle, how do they respond as teamates? Do we have guys who play for each other, and their coaches, even as the nation laughs at them, or do we have phantom injuries, and a don't get hurt mentality, as we finish what will go down as one of the worst seasons, of Browns football? Does it matter to anyone how they finish? What are you looking for? Are you even paying attention anymore?
You really want to pay Collins $14-15M yr when part of the reason he was traded was lack of effort on a SB contender also in a contract yr, imagine what happens when he gets paid no thanks
I've had people ask me "how can you root for the Browns? They're terrible." I tell them they are my team. Through thick and thin. You can't just pick another team and root for them. At least I can't and most of the people I know can't. Can you imagine watching football Sunday and yelling "come on Cincinnati. Let's go" I would rather shave my head with a cheese grater. We are die-hard Browns fans. No matter what..... And we will come back to be a winning franchise
